First, just to be clear, you mentioned a backslash but what you have there is a forward slash. I just want to make sure we're on the same page.
If you're entering a full username in a domain\username format, you would typically use a backslash "\". In some applications, if that doesn't work, you can also also specify the full username as username@domain instead. I don't know if that will work in the Dropbox proxy settings, or if you're authenticating off of a Windows domain, but I'd try it.

Thanks for your help and suggestions. I meant that it is no longer possible to type a backslash (\) in the username field of the proxy settings in the Windows version (v213.4.4597) of Dropbox. The suggested workaround using "@" seems to work. Thanks a lot!
