I reported a suspicious file that was shared with me, but received no response
I received an email that purported to have been sent by Dropbox telling me there was a File shared with me. I was not expecting this and was very suspicious that it had not come from Dropbox as the email it was sent from "em-s.dropbox.com looked odd.
After spending quite a while trying to find some help or support I eventually found an abuse@dropbox email to send this type of potentially false contact. I forwarded the email as requested and received a response from support quoting a ticket number. I have heard nothing since despite sending a reminder. The ticket link in the email does not go to a ticket link so is completely useless and seems to indicate that no actual ticket has ever been created.
The fact that Dropbox does not appear to provide any real support and like a number of other companies now seems to rely on customers running communities as a cheap way of providing any information does not encourage my continued use of this business.
It seems clear that if they have no interest in ensuring that customers who may be subjected to phishing-type emails using their name are at the minimum acknowledged they really have no customer care or appreciation.

Hey adrian29630, thanks for reaching out to our Community.
The email address this email came from, is a legit Dropbox email address, but good thinking that you reported it, if it looked suspicious to you.
You can take a look at this thread for more info on the particular notification.
Also, when you report something to the abuse@dropbox.com address, the team won't reply to your report, it will just take down the content, if it's indeed abusive/phishing, etc., that's why you didn't get a reply.
I hope this clarifies the situation, but let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Hannah
Thanks for the reply. Maybe the email is legit but when I looked at my Dropbox account there was no new shared file waiting for me. The email contained a link that also looked potentially genuine but might well have led to some type of malware or enabled the insertion of a virus. Dropbox makes it very difficult to find any help or connection to support. You have to search around for it and as you say even in the event of an abuse they cannot even be bothered to respond. Why bother to provide a ticket number that goes nowhere?
Very poor customer service and support.
