How to Request a File with Dropbox

From time to time, you might need to request a file from a friend or colleague 🤝. Whether this is for a super-tasty stuffing recipe that’ll really take your Thanksgiving dinner to the next level, a reading you need for your latest assignment, or it’s a your sales report you need to close out the quarter, you’ll be glad to hear that it’s really easy to do with Dropbox 💌.

 

Okay, so here’s how to easily request a file using your Dropbox account

 
  1. Head over to dropbox.com to login to your Dropbox account. Easy peasy.
  2. On the left sidebar, find and click File requests. It’s your magic gateway to getting files from anyone!
  3. Ready to make your move? Click New request.
  4. Time to name your request! Make it catchy or just keep it simple your choice.
  5. Add a description that tells people exactly what you're looking for. Feel free to get creative here!
  6. Dropbox will create a folder for your files, but if you have a specific place in mind, you can switch it up.
  7. Got a Pro account? Awesome! You can add cool features like deadlines or even password protection to keep things secure.

  1. Hit Create and let Dropbox do its magic.
  2. Enter the name or email of the person you're requesting the files from.
  3. Add a friendly note to go along with your request, because who doesn’t love a personal touch?
