To help with this, there are a couple of safety precautions you can take to ensure that you account is fully locked and secure 😎. One of these is two-step verification. If you’re not sure what is two-step verification is, to put it very simply, it’s an extra step beyond simply entering your email address and password when logging in. So by enabling it, you’re essentially adding a an extra layer of security to your Dropbox account. Dropbox does this by sending you a 6 digit code to enter before you get access to your account. So, if you want to sure up your security and enable two-step verification, you’ll be glad to hear that it’s really easy. All you you need to do is follow these simple steps. Let’s do it!💪 Okay, So Here’s How to Level Up Your Dropbox Security in Under a Minute! First things first, head on over to dropbox.com to log in. Look to the top right-hand corner of the screen and click on your avatar (you know, that little profile picture of yours 🤓). In the dropdown menu, select Settings. Now, click on the Security tab. Keep scrolling until you see Two-step verification - your key to extra security. See that toggle switch? Go ahead and flip it to "On." If you seeManaged by single sign-on under the Security tab, your team uses single sign-on (SSO). This means you might not be able to use two-step verification with Dropbox. Contact your admin to learn more. Click Get started and let’s add that extra layer of protection. Select the option to receive your verification code by text, then click Next. I am looking for advice on an issue with my Downloads folder. I do designs for sublimation printing so I download hundreds of images every week. I always move them to a special folder where I unzip, sort & name the files. Then I assign them a 'design name' & move them to an appropriate folder to be prepped. I just realized last night that DropBox is backing up the downloads folder before I get them moved. I do not store anything in the Downloads folder so that seems kind of redundant. migrating to a new PC, Online only?
Hi, I will be migrating to a new PC soon. In my current PC Dropbox saves files to the cloud and my local hard drive. I want the new PC to be online only should I change the current PC to online only prior to installing Dropbox on the new computer? My friend set up the Dropbox account on my laptop under user/gloria/ Dropbox. I have a lot of excel spreadsheet stored. I can easily find them. However, when I sign in on my cell phone to drop box, I can’t find most of the files on my laptop. My questions: 1. Are those excel file stored only on my laptop? Is it automatically stored on my drop box account? I paid extra for Dropbox storage but not taking advantage of the storage. 2. How do I erase file on lapstop and only store them on Dropbox?
