Password changes creating new account
I’m here in the newbies group because I don’t use Dropbox much, nor do I understand what I’m doing when I have files stored there. I’ve been asked to change my password at login, when I’m using the stored password. Frustrating!. Yesterday, after changing my password (to the one it won’t accept today), a new account with no files was created!!!. Are the files that were there seconds before gone forever?

How long is it since you last logged in?

After trying to sign in to REPLY, I realized that yesterday it asked, didn’t I want to sign in with my Google account. This is at the page where you choose Apple or your email or Google. I believe I had always used the email choice with [personal information removed per the Community's Guidelines] and a PW for Dropbox. Yesterday I think I signed in through Google because just now when I tried that way, it accepted the login. But same problem. This account doesn’t have the files that see attached to the email above. So, only one email involved for a very long time. Login has messed me up more than once.

Hey ChefKatz, sorry to jump in.
From what I understand, you used Google to sign in to your Dropbox account the last few times, correct?
Can you please try to log out and log back in directly with your email address this time (without clicking on the Google option at all) and let me know what happens? If you're having any trouble with the password, you can also reset it from the login page.
