Found my way here after googling "How to remove myself from a dropbox paper share".
Shocked to find that that not only is this not a feature in Paper, but that people have been asking for this for years including many many multi-page threads in the community section. On one of those threads an (apparent) admin pointed at this "ideas" part of your site and said "go there".
So I come here, and what do I find? Zero interest from dropbox in implementing a feature that people have been asking for, literally, for YEARS.
That's remarkable. It means that someone can fill up your dropbox paper view with documents that you can't get rid of. The suggestion of archiving sounds "OK" until you realise that when you do this it also says "archived for X other users" as well.
That's insane.
I'm a software developer, professionally for 24 years now. Been writing software for far longer though. I've been building network systems and web systems for most of that 24 years (and before).
On no level does this attitude from dropbox make sense.
It's a basic security feature to allow users to remove themselves *as well as* owners to remove themselves.
I'm forced to use this tool at work, and was considering using it for more things at home, but given this insanity I won't be doing so until this is fixed, and will reccommend against it at work too - for these reasons.
