Dropbox Paper
163 TopicsHide completed tasks in body of Paper doc
The aspect I love most about Dropbox Paper is that it enables me to view my project as a whole with the level of detail I need in table form, with multiple to-dos and sub-to-dos nested within the table itself. The latter is a feature I haven’t found elsewhere. Task management and the task sidebar are also great. I use a single table for the duration of my projects (several months). Though necessary to retain history after to-do’s are checked off, after a while, completed tasks take up too much real estate. It would be extremely helpful to have a toggle view to hide completed tasks from the body of the doc. This would be the case whether the to-do’s are in a table or not. My workarounds so far are to: 1) Delete the completed tasks individually. This is tedious, and I potentially lose info I need later. 2) Copy and paste the completed to-dos to a different column at the end of my table. This is time-consuming, as to-do’s nested in tables can’t be dragged. 3) Copy/paste my table into a new section and archive the old one, then #1 above.17Views1like1CommentPassword-protect a Paper document
I'd very much like to protect a paper file with a password to store personal data I wouldn't want to get accessed from someone who might steal my phone or I might inadvertently share with others. That was a feature of Evernote though. Why isnt't this possible on dropbox? There has been a post about this suggestion about this 6 yrs ago! Thank you for your attention.18Views0likes1CommentGive us the option to export all Dropbox Paper docs at once
Sadly, the last update to Dropbox Paper ended the "export all at once" feature. This means that all work done only ever exists on Dropbox's servers and there is no backup on my local computer. As long as I could export all at once, I could do weekly backups in case things go awry. This is not possible anymore in the new version. This means I will not be able to use the Paper feature anymore as I cannot accept unsecured work and exporting paper documents one by one for Backup is not practicable. Please bring "export all at once" back to Dropbox Paper.94Views5likes4CommentsDropbox Paper: apply individual style sheet to documents
I'd like to assign a document view style to each Dropbox Paper document from a list of different predefined styles, including colors, font selection and sizing, padding etc. There should be a possibility for everybody to provide (and share?) selfmade style sheets for this purpose.158Views0likes2CommentsOption to download/print the list of tasks using filters in Paper
It would be of enourmous help to be able to download and/or print the list of tasks using filters: by selected dates, by selected documents and by selected persons. It will make Paper more helpful and even more productive than what it is now.765Views1like3CommentsIncrease max-width of Dropbox Paper content area at LG/XL breakpoints
Hello, I have some feedback to pass along to your design & dev teams regarding the web experience using Dropbox Paper on a Chrome brower (Version 127.0.6533.73). Is it possible to increase the max-width of the content area in LG & XL breakpoints? Currently, when reading/writing/editing in Paper in a 1280px wide viewport, the content area is limited to only 745px wide – 58% of the available viewport. The left & right margins feel excessively large and the "dead space" creates difficulties when trying to view multiple windows on a single device screen. Allowing the content area to stretch at least 75% of the viewport width would keep more of the content in view without scrolling, would better accommodate users on large devices, and still include negative space for your eye to rest. Please see the attached screenshots for a visual representation; and please reach out with any questions or for more details. Just read an article about Paper on Engadget. While the project almost sounds interesting, the big question is why are you wasting resources on this when there is zero demand for another word processing program that works on the web in the face of Word Online, Google Docs and Apples Pages, truly, just zero demand. What there is demand for is end to end encryption. Can we have that instead of features we'll never use and that you'll cancel 6-18 months after rolling it out? Dropbox is file storage. Do that well and integrate easy to use, rock solid encryption.3.7KViews1like5CommentsDropbox Paper: Merging Cells in Tables
It’s been 4-1/2 years since this was first brought up as a question, and about 3 years since it was submitted as an idea.* It’s time to bring it up again. Anyone who uses tables knows the importance of being able to merge cells. PLEASE, Dropbox, give us this ability! Thanks. *As found here: Solved: Can I merge cells in a row in a table in PAPER? It would be great if we could get an option to create our to-do list in a stand-alone bar in the desktop app, mobile app, and browser. Currently, we can only create one in the dropbox paper but I think it would also be of additional value if there was one by itself that we can use to prioritize our tasks. Within the to-do list, there should be an option to add completion dates and sort them all by that date as well. In addition, we should also be able to add reminders whether we want dropbox to send reminders to us that certain tasks are coming up due or overdue. This will be a very nice feature for managing tasks for people who do not work in a team.1.4KViews0likes3Comments
