I wish Dropbox could cast image and Pictures to Chrome Cast
Dropbox Cast image and Pictures to Chrome Cast - feature request
I am super happy with my Dropbox license which is widely used on Android, iPad, and Windows 10 systems.
However, I miss one feature:
The ability to cast directly from Dropbox on Android and iOS systems.
I'm aware that you can set up your Android device to mirror the screen of a Chrome Cast, but it's cumbersome, and not always very reliable. Often the connection is lost and you have to set up the Mirror again.
If you are using an IOS device, mirroring of the screen is not possible. I realize that there are work around solutions that can be used, for example to use a browser and cast it, but it's not super functional.
My wish, and probably millions of other Dropbox users, is therefore:
Can we get:
Chrome Cast - integrated directly into the Dropbox App - for Android and iOS devices ? ? ?
It will certainly be a feature that will be widely used.

1. Images in the Dropbox app on my android phone will not play as a slideshow. They should.
2. The Dropbox app on my android phone doesn't support Chromecast. It should.
Both these capabilities have been requested and recommended plenty of times on the forum. I beleive it's high time Dropbox added them. They are really pretty basic. Anyone listening at Dropbox?
- Jude-EMExplorer | Level 3As a company that uses DropBox for business (Advanced moving to Enterprise) this is a feature we absolutely need for our clients. If we find another provider that offers a similar service but allows casting our cloud hosted media to devices, it would certainly be enough for us to switch. Please look into this DropBox team, casting is increasingly becoming a widely used feature and is now a staple for any app that provides streaming media.

Hi Walter
Is it interesting to know if Dropbox is considering, or is in the process of implementing cast functionality in Dropbox?
Can you or others at Dropbox answer it?

Thanks for the nudge and apologies for the late reply Bielefeldt.
Actually, this idea is going to need a bit more support before we share your suggestion with the team.
I’ve gone ahead and updated the status to encourage more users to back you up!

OK community, support this idea and Dropbox will do it: the app needs to be chromecast compatible. It's the most functional way to project images - such as your photo shows in Dropbox - to a smart TV screen.

I really agree on this topic. Chromecast of Dropbox content is a must-do. At least as an app like Google photos

This should already be a feature. Considering casting isn't exactly a new concept.

Amen to this idea

As someone whose small business has switched to Dropbox for a myriad of services during the pandemic shut-down, being able to cast to TV would be SO helpful for our clients.
