We are aware of the issue with the badge emails resending to everyone, we apologise for the inconvenience - learn more here.
When someone requests a file using your request a file tool, the person who uploads the file's name gets added to the file name eg janedoe_filea.pdf . This is really frustrating and I end up having to rename my files. I did a search to solve the problem and I see there are other people that are quite frustrated by the problem but apparently there is no fix for this? Please let me know if there is a solution for this. thanks

Walter this is unbelievable. 19.4k views on the original 5 year old(!!!) post and you/Dropbox have only now checked in to simply say 'not for right now'.
No engaging with the users. No acknowledgement that shows you understand why it's important to so many of us. Just 'sorry, no'.

@Walter I ditched Dropbox premium plan a few years ago and this year I've moved all my activities from Dropbox completely.
Your reply just reaffirms my decision to switch cloud storage provider.
Good luck to everyone who still chooses to struggle with Dropbox.

WalterReally? This is labeled "not important"???
This is an issue that has come up repeatedly for the last FIVE years. This topic has been viewed almost 20 thousand times. And it's not important?
Files not being relabeled for file requests is VERY IMPORTANT for those of us who need that function. It feels like such an easy thing to implement.
But all you're saying is that you don't actually care about your users and their needs for making Dropbox a useful productivity tool. That's some pretty crappy user support........

When users submit files to a folder I've shared with them via File Request, Dropbox automatically pre-pends their name to their files. e.g., if they titled the file "AudioFile_take01," when they submitted to the shared folder, Dropbox adds their name to it and it becomes "Their Full Name - AudioFile_take01."
I wish it wouldn't.
I understand how it may be helpful for some. But it makes my filenames unusably bulky and corrupts the naming convention I and my submitters employ. So I have to edit that prepend out of every single file, and it's time-consuming when I have a ton of files.
I think there should be a preference/setting where one can ask that no such prepending occurs. - MeganDropbox StaffStatus changed:Not for right nowtoDelivered

I already posted this long ago and it has been upvoted by others many times. It would be great if, when you invite someone to upload files to your dropbox, their name did not get added to the file name. We end up having to manually edit them out of the file name. It's a bit of a nuisance. thanks
