You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
I would like to permanently delete closed file requests. An identical issue was opened and marked as solved 2 years ago, but the underlying issue was never actually addressed.

I wanted to +1 this previous issue, but the reply button wasn't working. Moreover, because the previous issue is already (erroneously) marked as solved, I figured I might get more traction by opening a new discussion.

It's not erroneously marked as solved. Solved does not necessarily mean resolved to a person's satisfaction. On these forums it simply means that the post has received the proper response for the issue raised. In this case, the response provided by Zed is still correct.
File Requests still cannot be removed once closed. They will remain under Closed Requests indefinitely.

Hello
Is there any way to permanently delete "Closed requests" from the File requests page?
Thank you
- JaneDropbox StaffHey jazzmeg1, kindly note that we’ve closed the original Solved thread for commenting, as this had been an older conversation that wasn’t active for a long time, however I’ve just moved your post in the follow-up discussion on the same inquiry. While this isn’t currently available Meg, we’re collecting & forwarding your interest on similar features that could enhance the way you’re interacting with Dropbox. Please let me know if you’d like me to move the follow-up thread to the Share an Idea section on your behalf, where other Community members could upvote it & I’ll follow-up with you asap.(On a slightly separate note, I’m also cross-checking the specifics you had included on our second discussion & I’ll touch-base with you there shortly.)Enjoy the rest of your day until we talk again!

This idea is going to need a bit more support.
We've updated the status to encourage more users to back you up!

It is crazy that I can't get rid of closed requests. i am using about 20 requests per class per semester - at 3 classes per semester, that's that is adding up to at least 120 requests per year - an unmanageable #.

I second what Jonathan Perl said. Crazy that you can not delete these closed file requests. It looks like you can delete the files but not the file requests. Please look into this. Thank you DropBox.

Thank you for this idea. While we can’t take every idea forward we do regularly re-review and will update you if anything changes!

If the files in the requests are deleted why does it still indicate the number of files? I would like to feel confident that the files have been permanently deleted. And I see no reason to keep this history. Makes me reconsider using Dropbox.

Cannot understand why 2 years and a half after the topic was opened, nothing has changed. It is that hard to develop and offer the ability to definitely remove a request file that is not used any longer ?
It seems like the dropbox interface and user experience has aged so fast in so little time. It does look so messy. Hopefully I'm not in for a paid subscription, otherwise I would have reconsidered using paying for that.

I work for a company, and was playing around with file requests. I didn't know file requests were permanent! Now whenever someone that works in the HR department needs to look at closed file requests there is one called "Potential Career". Doesn't look great when that is sitting there. Is there anyway we could get the ability to permanently delete those.
