A number of us have started using dropbox paper at work. We want to save documents that we create in paper to an existing Team folder but I can't see how to do this. Any ideas anyone?
I love Dropbox Paper but I think it needs to be an intigrated part of Dropbox. As it stands right now you can't add Paper files to your dropbox folders, they live in their own section of dropbox. Being seperate makes things very inconvenient when I'm working on projects trying to look at my to-do list and try to access my files. To me Paper should be more like a viewing platform, similar to how Dropbox handles viewing a PDF.
I agree and can imagine 2 ways to make Paper much more powerful.
1. When saving photos and other documents to a Drop Box folder, automatically insert that link (and preview, if possible) into a single Paper document assigned to that folder. This would create a chronological "log book" that could be later annotated to explain the purpose of each file and to add a way to navigate that DropBox folder.
2. Conversely, if it was possible to work from within Paper as a kind of diary or journal and very easily create and edit Word, Excel, etc. documents embedded within Paper (and saved automatically to a linked DropBox folder), again, it would be a much more intuitive way to integrate DropBox folders with Paper documents.
I have the same problem! Dropbox should do the same as Box they have boxnotes totally integrated with box cloud, they evan a desktop application for that

Honestly, decoupling Paper (i.e. Advanced Notes) from Dropbox (a cloud file location to store things... like Notes) is just plain idiotic.
Even if it's not housed within the Dropbox location, we should be able to create some kind of cloud organized link structure between them.
If I'm in a Paper Folder, allow us to link that with a specific Dropbox folder. If I'm in Dropbox and want to create a note to go with the organizational structure... I should be able to link it.
Right now, I have to go inside Paper, manually download the Word Version (only option?!) and save the **bleep** thing manually.
I love Dropbox, it's why I've invested monthly income to do so... but this is short-sited and idiotic for such a great cloud services company.
INTEGRATE YOUR IDEAS BEFORE YOU RELEASE THEM!!!! It's like rule number one of programming design. If it's not functional... why spend money and time on it?I'm pushing for my company to drop Google Drive in favor of Dropbox, and Paper is a huge + ... except for the fact that we need to maintain seperate-but-equal folder structures for stored files and collaborative Paper docs for each project, and tell staff to reference both places for all the information they need to know. It's kinda a UX fail — this is a workflow annoyance on a daily basis.
Yep, dealbreaker for me.
On a project we like to have everything in one place / one shared project folder.
Anything else doesn't make sense.
Off to find another solution.I agree. I was thrilled at the thought of being able to place my Dropbox Paper docs into my existing Dropbox folders. I came to the forum because I couldnt figure out how to do that and am quickly learning why! This just seems like it should have been a part of the original release to allow Dropbox work cohesively. It's been a year since the original post, I hope this is something the Dropbox team is considering fixing soon.
+1 for integration with standard Dropbox folders etc. This is a must for ease of use.
Since this post is labeled as "FR" (Feature Request) I suggest that all users who have been expressing here their desire for the integration of Paper in the Dropbox folders system put a kudo to the post (at the top next to the original text by liz g.4) to raise potential for it to be picked by the Dropbox dev team.
+1 I would love to see Paper integrated with my existing Dropbox folder structure and be able to add a Paper document to some Dropbox folders that I've shared with my wife. While I find Dropbox superior to Google Drive in terms of reliable syncing, this is a major area where Dropbox is lacking compared to this basic ability in Google Drive.
Without this ability, I'm not going to bother using Paper over Google Drive.
- Paper is great but I agree with others, life is too short to have duplicate structures. I would take up using Paper if I could directly access it from my Dropbox drive without going through a browser.
- +1 for integrating paper into the dropbox file structure. I too assumed that this would be part of Paper's design. I collaborate on projects with multiple people. We intended to use paper to collaborate on a research paper, and having the resources and references in the same folder would be convenient. Very curious why it wasn't part of the design brief.
