Wrap Text for Filenames So They Are Readable
Please, please, please make the text of our file names wrap instead of cutting out the middle so that we can read them without changing our phone to landscape mode. Please… It’s really annoying to only see about 10 characters in the first part of the title. It makes the your app too hard to use. Please change this. Usability is everything when it comes to apps and this has always made your app frustating to workflow.

Another request that should just plain be a given & shouldn't have to be voted on. Such an obvious problem that needs fixed, especially since modern smartphones are getting (stupidly) narrow & long.
It's almost impossible for us users to find new phones wide enough for a reasonable amount of visual content in vertical mode anymore (or heck, even horizontal, since it makes videos physically much smaller & keyboards take up all the space). It's why I specifically bought an older phone, but the battery will inevitably fail eventually.
So as long as this unfortunate trend continues, app creators need to adapt & find ways for horizontal visual elements (including text) to use more vertical space. Toggle-able wrapping state (with the option staying tappable as users scroll down), & (importantly) keeping which files the user is currently looking at centered if the wrapping is toggled while they've scrolled partway down the list, is now practically essential.

This would solve our problem as well. We have multiple folders with same name but in different location so when we are searching on mobile, you can't tell which folder is the one you want without opening it. an option to see the full path would certainly make this more user friendly.

Yes please. An easily accessible toggle at the top of the screen or in the "..." menu perhaps? This would make it possible to view all the files in the current space-efficient manner, until you need to see a longer name.. Quickly toggle filename wrapping on, easily read your filename, and then switch back for quicker skimming. What a perfect feature that would be!! I would use the app more as a result.

I agree, just last weekend I found myself renaming some files so I could find them easier. I really don’t like the way titles are cut out in the mid…dle.

Ideally please include a toggle in the settings to switch between wrapping and clipping titles but if I had to choose just one, I'd choose wrapping! Also make wrapping the default please!

@Megan
Thanks for considering this. I do hope it gets support.

Full support on this idea, especially since we often use long descriptive filenames with the version number and meta-data at the end. Not limited to dropbox, even desktop apps have this affliction (ahem-MS Office-ahem).

We read everywhere that it’s “mobile first” “mobile responsive” but I’ve noticed a lot of apps lately are not user friendly, they’re frustrating and companies that have huge profits do not care if their apps, websites, file storage are actually responsive. Just yesterday I was researching email autoresponders on my iPhone 12 Pro Max which has a larger screen than most smartphones and 3 of the companies I had to constantly change the phone’s orientation, I decreased the font size to 75% thinking that would help but no so I looked up their 2021 4th quarter financial statements. Two of the companies with the worst mobile responsive behavior had over 10 million dollars of free cash. I haven’t looked up Dropbox’s financial reports but I’m sure if I did they would also have huge profits bc it appears that greed takes over, customer service goes out the window and rules don’t matter. So wrap the text for the file names. It’s so sad when mobsters have more morals than big companies.
