Hi everybody, Dropbox app is actually taking 3gb on my phone (Samsung S7). In dropbox online guide they suggest to free space deleting cache memory, but on my phone dropbox cache memory is only 32 mb at the moment, the apk is 160mb (more or less) while the 3 gb is dropbox user data! I suppose if I delete all user data from Samsung Maintenance software I will lose also my dropbox account settings and in the worst chance also the data i loaded from the phone and now availables for other users. If I delete single files from dropbox app, they are no more available on the account so... The question is: How to free space on the phone deleting the files only on the local phone memory and not from the cloud? (please don't answer to delete cache memory :D)Solved17KViews2likes25CommentsDropbox is taking up 157GB of storage space on my Android S7
Under my Android Galaxy S7 Settings -> Storage -> Apps [Dropbox] -> Space Used -> Data field, Dropbox is using 158GB of Data. I do periodically take files offline for mapping out of cell phone range, however I make sure to unselect the use offline optoin for each file after I'm done with my offline mapping and connected back to the internet. This is a real problem because my Android table is quickly running out of storage space and Dropbox is main reason why. How do I clear this large of amount of data that Dropbox is storing on my mobile device?? I double checked that I didn't miss any files that were previously set for offline use in the Dropbox app, and it says 0. I've read tons of other posts that go back years from with this same issue. This is absolutely a high severity/high priority defect with Dropbox's app that needs to be fixed asap. So without telling me to uninstall and reinstall the Dropbox app, how do I delete all this Dropbox data off my device so I can free up available storage space?? It's to the point that Dropbox is making it so I can't use my tablet because of this huge amount of Dropbox data that taking up a huge amount of space on my tablet. The clear cache sets the Cache to 0 B but doesn't affect the 158GB of Dropbox data. I scared to select the 'Clear Data' data option because I don't know if that deletes files in on Dropbox or not?? Dropbox..please stop ignoring this defect and fix it. It's been going on way too long and causes big problems for your users. Thanks!1.1KViews0likes3Commentsapp claims dropbox is full but website disagrees
I have the Basic plan which starts at 2 GB. Over the years I've invited friends and done other little tasks to get free space and am currently allotted 3.25 GB. Of that, I'm using 2.7 GB between my files and files shared with me. Everything continues to work normally except that the app on my phone (Android 13) has started claiming that I'm out of space or even above my limit (since I'm over 2 GB) and throwing notifications at me about paused and cancelled uploads. What gives? Anyone else experiencing this?Solved1.1KViews0likes5CommentsCan I delete music files that I upload to Dropbox from my Android to free up space on my phone?
