CAMERA UPLOAD organizing by adding folders in that folder
I need to know specifically how to organize photos and videos in the CAMERA UPLOAD folder. If for example i create a VIDEO folder in the CAMERA UPLOADS folder while on my DESKTOP PC and then move all movie extensions to it, will that sync so that my ONLINE Dropbox copy of CAMERA UPLOADS looks the same (would both now have a folder called VIDEO containing all the movies)? Second, IF I DO the above, will dropbox then sync those same files back in from my phone (assuming it does not see them as they are in a new folder within CAMERA UPLOADS called VIDEO) or, does it only import into the dropbox CAMERA UPLOAD folder the new photos i take with my phone? Thank you A third possibility is that it is allowing creating of the new folder called VIDEO in to the folder called CAMERA UPLOADS but not actually moving those items. Just showing them in there....
Automatically move files from "camera uploads" to other folders
Hello everyone, I have 4 people in my family that constantly take pictures. I have an iCloud + account so that I can make backups of all our iPhones and iPads. Problem is that it is out of storage space and I don't want to pay for another subscription. Now I know that I am able to use the "Camera Upload" feature. However, all pictures from each device ends up in the folder "Camera Upload". I read that I have to physically go in the the Camera Upload folder and sort out each photo and transfer them to a folder that I create. Is there anyway to or trick to move the files automatically when they are being transfered from the iPhone to DropBox?
Can I automatically delete photos from my phone after they're uploaded with Camera Uploads?
Is there a feature where when you or the app uploads the photo to drop box it then removes it from the phone. I have a difficult time when uploading alot of photos from my phone to drop box confirming that all the photos are now ON my drop box and feel safe to take them off my phone... I'm talking 1000's of photos and can't possibly confirm them all. It seems to be uploading theinbox AND my screenshots
Managing an external APFS Apple external drive with Dropbox.
I have connected anAPFS Apple external drive to my MacBook Pro and chosen certain folders to be synced with DropBox. I do not need to upload anything else on my MacBook, because I am synching with iCloud. 1. Will DropBox keep these folders/files up to date, because I rename them on my external drive on a regular basis? 2. After connecting my iPhone 13 and iPad, Dropbox wants me to upload stuff, but I only need these mobile devices to access what my external drive uploaded to DropBox. There is no direction in using DropBox on these mobile devices. HOME view gives me info that I do not require. FILES wants me to upload, but I only need access what is on DropBox. PHOTOS also wants me to upload and no options to cancel this. ACCOUNT confirms that a percentage of my storage is on DropBox. Icannot navigate to. 3. I have a new DropBox account now, but before I have been using Dropbox for many years. With this new version I need some help in navigating, so that I simply Sync my external drive AND only access this DropBox info from my 2 mobile devices. Many thanks for your help in advance 🙂 3. If I access a DropBox file on my Mobile device, I would simply download it for my purpose.
What happens when I move photos out of camera uploads folder?
Context - I organise and archive my photos into folders - year and month - outside the Camera Uploads folder. We know camera uploads folder syncs photos from our phone. So what happens when we start moving the photos out of the folder into our own folders? - Does the photo gets synced back in again into the Camera Upload folder at a later time? - Does the photo NO LONGER gets synced again - presuming there's a record that it was already synced before? What really happens?
