Dropbox Splash Screen after restarting Windows 10
Twice, in the past two months, my computer has restarted after an update with a Dropbox splash screen asking me to create a Dropbox Account. Clinking on it, I now have created two new Dropbox folders and couldn't find my old Dropbox folder. After looking around, I finally found it under my user name folder on the C: and it was listed as Dropbox(old). How do I get back to using it again as my pri,ary account and how do I know if it is still syncing with the mothership?

Description: I noticed an issue where renaming an empty file in Dropbox results in the creation of a JSON metadata file. This JSON file seems to contain information related to the file preview, even though the file itself is empty.Steps to Reproduce: Create an empty file in Dropbox i chose to make a empty paper doc file Rename the file in the dropbox dashboard into .sql extension (i only tested in .xml and .json and sometimes they give different results like a binary file. observe I am a Software Developer and Tester and I like digging around, please don't think I was trying to hack, I do this for fun and I report my findings, Always. I'm having issues renaming scanned files in the iOS Dropbox app
I use Dropbox App on my iPhone a lot for scanning. I scan the file, then select Rename and change to what I want the name to be. Today I scanned a document and clicked on Rename. I had the name in the edit box and several suggestions below that I could select, but there was no keyboard for backspace where I could put in the name I wanted. This just started today. After I scanned the document. I opened DropBox on my Mac and easily changed the file name. Needless to say this is a hassle using two devices to scan then change the name! Any help would be appreciated.
Video File Conversion ends up with a total loss of audio.
Using the Save As feature, I have a total loss of audio when converting from MOV to a MP4 720P or MP4 360P file (the video conversion looks fine). Any ideas on how to remedy this? The reason for compression is that it's a large file (489MB). I need to reduce to at least a <60MB.
Folder commands missing from "background" right click when I click on empty space next to folder
Hi there, previously, one was able to right click in empty space on a folder and have the same commands show up that show when right clicking on a folder: These are the options that show when right clicking ON the folder. And as of a recent update, these are not available when right clicking in blank space: I dug around in the registry to see if it was possible to link the command, but it shows in Directory/shellex as normal, so I imagine this is something that has changed on Dropbox side. Is it possible to bring this back at all? Thanks, Luke
"You need permission to perform this action" each time I'm creating a folder.
I have searched through the forum for a solution but have yet to find one. I am using the desktop and trying to create a folder and keep getting the error, "destination folder access denied" "you need permission to perform this action". I have unchecked "read only" in the properties and it re-checks "read only" as soon as I go back to try to create a folder. I am the owner, administrator etc of this computer and I pay for a drop box plan. I recently got a new computer and have had this issue ever since! I should not have to log into dropbox online every time I want to create a folder. I am running windows 11. I have ensured that I have the proper permissions checked. I do not know what else I can do at this point. Please help, as this is affecting my day to day business.Question about ideas thread duration policy.
Hello, This is a question for Dropbox staff. I've noticed that recent ideas threads are being closed by Dropbox staff after exactly one month, citing "inactivity" as the reason. I'm curious to understand the rationale behind this practice. Given that ideas currently face visibility challenges on the platform, a one-month window may not provide sufficient time for community engagement.
