While I would like to have the ability for my wife and I to share a combined account with our own individual logins - it's not worth the extra $80/year, almost doubling the cost for only a limited increase in features. If it came with double the storage I might consider it, but even then I'm not sure I need that much more storage at the moment. Please reconsider the pricing on the family plan as I will never upgrade at anywhere near that price. It makes more sense to just have 2 Plus accounts since it comes with the extra storage. With the amount of competition out there for similar cloud storage, it's getting more difficult to justify the cost of dropbox, so I was really expecting a minimal increase in price, if any at all versus the Plus plan I am currently paying for.13KViews21likes32CommentsI need an affordable Family plan with decent storage.
I have a familiy with five members. Everybody has a Dropbox account.It is no option to pay for 5 pro accounts. Even one pro account is too costly. What I need is a affordable service for my family with a reasonable amount of storage. $100 for 1TB is "double" too much. We love the service, but there are other (in home) options. Forcing shared folder just crowds list of folders for everyone, especially since each family member uses dropbox in their own unique way. Paid users already haveaccess to advanced search features like full-text search, OCR (searching for text within images), full-text search, and image search (searching for objects within images). However, this can often return a lot of results leading to a poor experience having to wade through and find exactly what you're looking for. So, we're happy to announce that we're adding a few new operators to help you retrieve your files/folders more quickly: title:(new lead)=> See results with only the specific words in title of the file title:"new lead"=> See results with exact phrase match in title of the file. Note that quotes only work with title searches and can't be used to match on content type:image=> Filter results by a certain types like image, video, document, spreadsheet, etc. type:jpg=> Filter results by a certain types like file extension like jpg, png, docx, etc. before:2022-01-01=> Allows you to see all content before a certain date. Uses YYYY-MM-DD format. after:2022-01-01=> Allows you to see all content after a certain date. Uses YYYY-MM-DD format. lead AND new =>AND operators will show results that contain both words. lead OR new => OR operators will show results that contain either words. I have a PC (Windows 11) with accounts for multiple users, i.e. a family PC. I am using dropbox, and it works well. However, other users are not using dropbox. These other users experience an annoying dropbox feature after every Windows login: A dropbox panel pops up and invites them to create a dropbox account. I think these users should be able to say "No thanks, and never ask again". But I haven't found a way to stop the panel from popping up again and again. Not having a dropbox account, these users have no access to dropbox settings and preferences. Is there a way to stop this invitation panel?
