Dropbox Plus
140 TopicsIssues with Camera Upload
I’ve been having issues with my Camera Upload feature in my IOS Dropbox App. Usually when I open the app on my iPhone X, Dropbox will start locating the photos that it hasn’t uploaded yet and start uploading them. Now, it just reads “Starting camera uploads….Looking for photos” but nothing ever happens. I’ve tried closing/re-opening the app, deleting the app/re-installing, updating my IOS, deleting other photo cloud apps (Google Photos), and even upgrading to Dropbox Plus. None of these attempts have help solve my problem. Does anyone have any advice?6.9KViews4likes45CommentsBackup is stuck on "setting up"
I'm want to backup desktop and picture folder. But Dropbox backup is stuck on "setting up" over 2 hours. I read many threads on this issue, but nothing changed. I restart dropbox client and computer over 10 times. My dropbox client and windows 10 is up to date. Also, My internet is working properly. Each folder has a usual location. Size of these folders isn't over 150GB and my plan is dropbox plus(2TB).Solved2.6KViews2likes3CommentsDropbox Not Syncing and reached device limit
I wake up this morning and with coffee in hand, go outside with my Pixel 3XL phone, and snap a couple pics of where I'd like to place my new custom-made address sign on my garage. "Send us some pictures of where you would like the sign to go, we will calculate the exact size needed". and the headache begins..... I noticed within seconds, the pictures did not upload?? hmm?? Check your WiFi right??....connection: Excellent After 2 hours still not syncing, standing directly beside my home router....connection: Excellent yet, nothing? No new pictures since yesterday? I attempt on my android, to manually upload them (4 small pictures) NO success! Checked my dropbox account on my laptop "Dropbox is up to date," and "Sync History" nothing since YESTERDAY!?? hmm? Checked my dropbox account usage.....3.97GB of 5.25GB, so plenty of room for 4 little pictures. what is going on???? the tension headache starts pounding.... Check the android app making sure all permissions are granted and location settings are on.... AH HA! Under location settings, "Apps with this permission can access this device's location" NO DROPBOX??? NO Dropbox on the 'allowed' list, NO Dropbox on the 'allowed only while in use' list, and NO Dropbox on the 'denied' list! WHERE IS DROPBOX????? Have another coffee and think about this some more.... Everything was working fine the day before, what could have possibly changed overnight??? I made sure ALL permissions were granted to Dropbox on the android app. Doubtful that these could have been changed while I was sleeping! Checked them anyway! Yet I was still not able to allow location permissions. I checked the play store for updates and installed. Restart device with new update, STILL NOT SYNCING!!?? Arrhghghhh!!! Splitting Headache!! I then decide to uninstall the Dropbox phone app and then re-install.... I open up the newly installed Dropbox, sign in with my account email, BUT NOW..... "you've reached your plan's device limit" (I am using the basic free version) "Switch to Plus or unlink some devices". My HEAD is going to EXPLODE!!! I HAVE ONLY 2 DEVICES!!! GOOGLE PIXEL PHONE, AND LAPTOP!! THAT'S ALL!! NOTHING MORE!!!! NOW I CAN'T EVEN SET UP THE PHONE APP AGAIN WITHOUT REMOVING THE ONLY (1) DEVICE ON THE LIST (google pixel phone) I have spent the whole day trying to get %#*!! dropbox to work!! Thoroughly and completely disgusted with Dropbox!!!!Solved2.5KViews2likes5CommentsDifference between shared folder and family room
My team used to each have an account subscribed to the plus plan and we shared a folder to access the files as a team. We recently decided to start a family plan and are wondering what exactly is the difference between a shared folder and a family room when subscribed to a family plan.2.3KViews2likes4CommentsTransfering ownership of a dropbox account

Having an absolutely terrible time with this new Beta (mac) build and have left multiple messages for support that go unanswered. When exporting files (small jpgs mostly) to folders within the DB folder, some will inevitably just decide not to upload. ever. They'll have an empty cloud icon next to them, and right clicking them brings up no DB items (the uploaded ones do, however). It usually takes renaming them, moving them in and out a bunch of times, etc, to get it to sync. Incredibly annoying. Now it's not uploading half of a folder, there are no cloud icons but when I click the DB upper menu icon, it shows all of them 'waiting to sync' but never actually syncing. When I tried quitting the app and relaunching it, it kept freezing on launch, eventually got it to launch fully but it's still doing this. one other annoying but neutral thing it's doing is telling me my hard drive (with 200gb free) is almost full. it tells me this daily. just needed to rant about that. This is the worst beta version i've ever experienced in an app ever... anyone else having this experience?2.4KViews1like10CommentsCopy files from icloud to dropbox
Hello all. I have copied all my iCloud Files & Folders, via Finder, to Dropbox. They DO show up in Finder-->Dropbox. They do NOT show up on the web. All other files show up instantly but none of those I just copied did. Does anyone know why the files aren't showing up on the website? And, how do I correct this? Thank you all!3.4KViews1like4CommentsNo iPhone background photo upload
I am struggling to find up-to-date information on whether or not Dropbox will actually upload photos from the iPhone when the app is in the background. For me it does not. Old posts imply that Dropbox uses location services to allow the app to run in the background. However Dropbox does not appear in the location services settings (a big no-no if it's actually using location services). Nor is it listed as using location services under Settings -> Privacy -> Files and Folders. I've tried turning off and back on the Background App Refresh, along with iPhone restarts, no change. Pertinent details: Dropbox set to all photos, background app refresh is on, cellular data is on. Dropbox is added to the Files app. iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15.2.1. Latest Dropbox app. iCloud photos are turned off. The Dropbox app under iCloud settings is turned off. Dropbox plan is Plus.Solved11KViews1like17CommentsI have multiple Dropbox folders on my computer and want to eliminate one
I have multiple Dropbox folders on my system. Each one resides on a different drive or nested within another folder on those drives. All of them have different icon overlays: One has a green checkmark in a white circle, another has that one too plus the Dropbox logo as an overlay, another has a white checkmark in a solid green circle and the last one just has the Dropbox logo. They all seem to be syncing, but in my DB preferences only one of them is set to be the official folder. How do I eliminate the ones I don't want?Solved2KViews1like2Comments
