Hi, I recently purchased a MacBook Pro 13" with the M1 processor and I cannot seem to get a native install of Dropbox for this chipset. From searching the community, it seems like M1 support should be available in the latest installer. However, trying that plus the latest beta build all ask me to install Rosetta during installation. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, WarrenSolved101KViews64likes184CommentsiOS 11 Files App iPad - waiting to download
Using the Files App on iOS 11 - on my 11.2 iPhone 7 Plus everything works perfectly. From the Files App I see thumbnail representation of Dropbox files, I tap the file (e.g. a PDF) and it downloads and opens. On my 9.7 iPad Pro also running 11.2 - same Dropbox account - same files - no thumbnails, and every file tap results in “Waiting to download” and a spinning circle forever. Cleared cache, no Dropbox pin, turned off 2FA, deleted and reinstalled both Dropbox and Files App and same result. Contacted Dropbox Support and got boilerplate “use our app instead of Apple’s” mindless response. Apple support says it is a Dropbox issue. I just want it to work like it does on the phone. Any suggestions?Solved26KViews1like31CommentsDropbox Not working after restart: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment.
I have been experiencing a very frustrating issue with Dropbox the past few days. Issue: After restarting my Mac Studio (MacOS 13.6.5), Dropbox always gets stuck with the message: Reconnecting to the internet. This may take a moment. No VPN No Firewall Home Network Fully updated Dropbox The thing that is baffling is that : If you Quit and restart Dropbox it works immediately but if you restart the computer the issue appears again If you wait for a long time Dropbox eventually connects and syncs. But it takes a long time On the same computer, about a week ago, Dropbox was syncing instantly after reboot. I have tried already reinstalling and deleting the cache folder. Is this a known issue that's going on at the moment> Many thanksSolved25KViews11likes120CommentsNo Option to "Make Available Offline."
Honestly, this seemingly late "bringing to the forefront" (I guess you'd call it) of the whole "Online Only" vs. "Make Available Offline" thing has been more of a headache than a help, if I may offer my opinion. I purchased a new ultra-portable Windows computer which has a 256GB SSD on board, but I plan on using my Dropbox files with it, and I have well over 256GB worth of stuff in my Dropbox. The thing is that I'm often in situations in which I need offline access to my files. So I purchased a 1 TB microSD card, which will never leave its slot in this machine. Heck, I can't even retrieve it, it seems. I mounted it so that it isn't considered "Removable Media" by the computer, and then I proceeded to install Dropbox on the computer, with the intent of using the 1 TB card exclusively for Dropbox content...offline. I left my machine to sync overnight, and what do you know? Everything has a stupid cloud next to it. I have no option to "Make Available Offline," either in the file/folder context menu or in the Dropbox application > Preferences > Sync menu. If this is by design, it's a pitifully stupid design. I'm going to whatever lengths I can to make this work the way I envision, but I'm going to be awfully disappointed if Dropbox doesn't respect use cases that might not necessarily conform to a narrow definition. If it's an issue with a recent update to the application, then please bug the developers posthaste.Solved20KViews1like125CommentsDropbox won’t play videos on iPhone app
I have Dropbox Plus, and have the Dropbox app on my iPhone 7 Plus. I tried to look at some baby videos of my daughter on Dropbox (from the last year or so), and none of them will play. They will register that it’s a video, but when I tap it to play, the length of the video doesn’t show, and nothing happens. I’ve tried lots of videos, and they are all the same, except a slo-no video, which plays fine.Solved17KViews0likes5CommentsMacOS Sonoma 14.1 constant high CPU by process DropboxFileProvider
I'm using the latest version of Dropbox (v186.4.2607) on my MacBook Pro (2,4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9) that is running macOS Sonoma 14.1. Lately I've noticed that Dropbox is having a high cpu (150 - 200%) almost all of the time. Dropbox is always syncing although nothing is synced because all is already synced. The menubar icon always shows the sync icon and never the ready icon anymore. This is very unpleasant and the MacBook Pro is now always very warm/hot with temperatures from 85 to 100 ºC and that is not how it should be. Is there a solution for this issue?13KViews4likes27CommentsCan't add row or columns!
I can't add rows or columns. https://cl.ly/iTHe Every now and then it'll add one when I click the plus sign, but 9/10 it doesn't work. It also doesn't let me bulk add, and is tedious to do one by one. Is there a way to also have a sticky heading for the table like in Google Sheets or Excel for even as the person scrolls down in the table, the heading stays put! It took me a while to figure out that Dropbox was in fact the cause of this. This morning, after being away for a month, the PC (windows 10) froze up every 10-30 minutes after booting. A hard reset is the only thing that fixes it, although temporarlily. The PC hasn't been online that much to sync 100%, only for short times by other users. In this case, I hae 300GB files where a lot needed refreshing/re-syncing. However, this is now impossible as with the PC running like this, it cannot sync again. I have tried to re-install Dropbox, but it is still causing the entire system to freeze (I waited 15 minutes then reset). is there anyone out here with the same issues? Been running the PC without the Dropbox App now for about 4 hours, and didn't have a single freeze anymore. I need it for work and I have a Dropbox Plus account.Solved11KViews1like7CommentsChange Dropbox folder location
Hi, I am using Dropbox Plus on a Win7-PC. Since my C:/-drive ran out of space, I wanted to change the Dropbox location to F:/. This worked, but Dropbox created a subfolder also named Dropbox. I am not English mothertongue, so pls. bear with me when explainig a litte complicated. My local folder now looks like this: F:/Dropbox/Dropbox. I want to get rid of the subfolder, so locally I moved the whole content of "f:/dropbox/dropbox" to "f:/dropbox". To sync that with the Dropbox externally, I went to go the account settings and clicked "move". When I try to fill in f:/dropbox, I get the message "error with selected folder - this folder already contains a dropbox directory." Can anyone explain how I can get this issue solves please? I do not want to synchronize before this problem is solved. Thanks in advance.Solved11KViews0likes7Comments
