Dropbox Replay has been slow; it either doesn't load my videos or it throws errors.
Replay has been slow lately. Uploads from Dropbox, so not uploading really are failing and buggy. Playback is slow and laggy. I get the fail screen a lot and have to reload. Clients are having trouble accessing uploads in Replay. Is there a known issue? -M
Unable to make additional Replays off video on Dropbox
Hello all, I am avid and longtime Replay user. One of the ways I have leveraged Replay outside of standard video reviews, is to use it as a tool for generating briefs for creatives based on an existing video. Typically what I do, is find the video I wish to have a creative made from on our Dropbox, send it to Reply, rename the title to include [BRIEF] in it, and markup what needs to change in the video or what will be repurposed from the video, and send that to our motion artists to work off of. Well I have run into an issue today where we wanted to make 2 different creatives based off the same video. In the early days of Replay I would manually upload videos, so this was not really an issue before. These days, I have been leveraging the built-in functionality directly from Dropbox to create new Replays. So yesterday using: File > Open in > Dropbox Replay I made my Replay brief for the 1st creative to be made off this video. Today I tried using it again on the same original video: File > Open in > Dropbox Replay Instead of generating a new Replay, it sent me to the same Replay that was made yesterday from the video. So I tried using: Share > Send for review Same result, I get sent to the same Replay I made yesterday from this video. If this is not a bug, then I would like to request the ability to generate additional Replays from the same source file. Essentially the ability to generate a new copy. I need to be able private label DropBox Replay. I see that I can upload a logo on a gallery by gallery basis. However, I'd like to be able to brand my account similar to how I can do it with native DropBox. According to Customer Support, it's not currently possible.
Dropbox Replay - Opening any file Triggers "Unexpected Error"
The files were TIFF files, linked to their Dropbox files (not uploaded directly into replay). Our team cannot access any of the photos or annotations made. We have tried Chrome & Safari Browsers & Clearing Cache & Cookies. Is there any way to recover our work?
Replay feature request: download video with burnt-in captions
Hi Replay team, The blurb for Dropbox Replay video transcriptions feature currently reads: "You can add transcripts to video and audio files in Dropbox Replay, and create closed captions for videos. Once generated, you can edit the transcript, select a section to skip to that timestamp, and copy or share the transcripts." I believe it would also be helpful if we could add, "and download a version of a video with closed captions burnt in", or words to that effect. Essentially, the option to download the video with captions - ie what is displayed on the screen in Replay when captions are enabled. As a stretch goal, it would be helpful to have some simple formatting of the caption format (font, position, size) etc. Yes, our editors/NLEs are able to do this too, but there are good workflow/cycle reasons why it makes sense to do this in Replay: internal/external reviewers are able to review/amend transcripts here (cuts down unnecessarily feedback loops to editors who aren't necessary subject matter experts on the material); we're already generating .SRT caption files in Replay so it's ideal if they are consistent with the captions burnt into the video. Yes, best practice in many cases is to deliver clean video and an .SRT file so that the viewer/player can choose - but there are still plenty of cases where clients request versions of the video with burnt-in captions. I know that will be useful for us - anybody else here too? Thanks, David
Weird transparency issue when using Dropbox Replay with an Apple ProRes video file
When uploading a ProRes MOV with graphics to Dropbox Replay, we see a weird transparency grid during graphic transitions when full-screen graphics appear in the video - during playback. Has anyone come across this issue before?
