Dropbox Transfer
19 TopicsRemove Dropbox "Send with Transfer..." menu item from macOS Finder context menu
A somewhat-recent version of Dropbox for macOS has added the new menu item "Send with Transfer..." when right-clicking any file on your Mac, not just files in Dropbox. I know that Dropbox's Finder Extension can be disabled entirely. But this disables syncing badges and all Finder integration. I want to keep the Finder Extension enabled for the Dropbox folder itself... I just want to disable the global menu items when outside of the Dropbox. The similar "Move to Dropbox" menu item can be disabled individually: /Applications/Dropbox.app/Contents/MacOS/Dropbox --move-to-dropbox=False https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Dropbox-installs-integrations/Pleeeeease-does-anyone-know-how-to-permanently-delete-the-Move/td-p/13682 Is there a similar setting to hide the "Send with Transfer..." menu item individually? Until this menu item is removed I will be forced to disable the entire Finder integration.4KViews3likes7CommentsHow do you turn off expiration date e-mail notifications for Dropbox Transfer files?

I have Dropbox plus account. Can I copy the local folders from the old computer to the new computer to avoid syncing the folders from the server down to the new computer? I sync two large folders. I will be getting rid of the old computer and replacing with the new, but would like to avoid downloading the folders from the server to the new computer to avoid going over my internet service provider cap. Is there a way to do this?2.8KViews0likes5CommentsDropbox app uploading in online only outside of the Dropbox folder.
I've used the free Dropbox for a while but just went to a paid version and would also like to use the Dropbox app to make file transfer and organization easier. In my case with most files I want them to be online only in order to save hard drive space. I see that files must be in online only mode via right clicking which is a welcome choice and even better it appears to be the default option when I upload files to the website directly. Awesome so far! However, if I drag files into the Dropbox drive made available by the Dropbox app after they upload they are both existing in that Dropbox folder while also simultaneously in the original location on my hard drive. This isn't a surprise at all, although I was hoping to find some workaround to be able to drag files into the drive and keep them online only while being able to easily organize them so long as I don't download back to my hard drive. I tried to select all and make them all online only and after waiting for them to convert I checked the file size of the root Dropbox folder and it was unchanged. So here I am hoping to find a way to use the Dropbox app to upload files without copying them into that Dropbox folder on my actual hard drive. Can anybody help out please? I did try the manage hard drive space tool accessed from right clicking on the Dropbox drive, but it claims I have no offline files, whereas the folder itself is exactly the same size as the original files it contains despite most of them being uploaded directly to the website without even using the app. I'm confused by that.Solved2.7KViews0likes7CommentsGetting the most out of Dropbox Transfer: How can I make a Dropbox File Transfer view only ?

Hi, Using Dropbox v177.4.5399 on Windows 11 Home V22H2 now and loving it, this app works great! I had a question about the context menu options though When I right-click on a folder I see "Send with Dropbox Transfer" listed as a context menu option, which I don't use. Is this possible to remove?Solved1.3KViews1like2Comments"Send a copy " to a Dropbox-file from an app to automate the process
Hi, To share a file with another outside our organisation we do as follows: 1. Create the file on our dropbox, when having a local copy on HD we can make the file directly to the HD copy 2. Right click on the file and choose "Send a copy.." to send it with Dropbox link 3. We open "Settings" and set password and expiry date for the link and prepare the link 4. We choose "Send with e-mail" 5. Write the recipients E-mail address and content in the message 6. Press Send What we want to do is to pass all this information directly from an app to avoid manual work to do the same procedure on each file, we are planning to send hundreds of files per day to our customers so it will be quite a lot of manual writing to do when all the information we need to give is already known by our app. Would it be possible to implement such feature in Dropbox ?1KViews0likes2Comments
