So I just used Google to sign into dropbox and it claims I just gave access to all of my Google Account. How is this possible? Using Google to authenticate should be a one-way street. I wasn't intending to let Dropbox see my gmail, contacts, google drive, etc.Solved26KViews3likes5CommentsCan I preview a plain text file which extension is not supported by Dropbox?
Hi, I'm using Dropbox on my PC and iPhone, and storing some Emacs Org-mode files. These files have ".org" extension (e.g. "memo.org"), but its contents is just a plain text file. Only the difference is extension. Previously I could preview ".org" files on my iPhone directly, but now, I can't preview and recieve the error message "This file can't be previewed". Is there any way to preview a plain text file which extension is not supported by Dropbox?Solved3.8KViews3likes7CommentsAbility to attach Dropbox files to email in Mail app on Ipad has disappeared
I have regularly been able to attached documents from Dropbox when creating an email on OSX Mail app. However, now I am not able to. Steps that fail are below: Create email on iPad with Mail. Tap on the paper clip icon OR tap in the body to get banner of options, including Add Attachment Window opens with file access options; under LOCATIONS, find ICloud Drive, On My IPad, and Recently Deleted. No Dropbox option. No MORE... button anywhere to add Dropbox as a choice for Mail to attach documents. I have looked in Settings for a way to tell either Dropbox to allow access or Mail to get access to Dropbox. No success yet. Please, any solution? I have found discussion of problem with Outlook and referral to Microsoft, but there is no MS Office involvement in this issue. Thanks in advance.Solved28KViews2likes20CommentsHow can I backup our entire Enterprise Dropbox account?
We are planning to use Dropbox for our enterprise storage and file solution. We expect to have about 100TB of data across the world. For regulatory purposes and because the cloud is not a backup (at least from our view) wen want to have a backup of all the files. We need to be able go have backups for certain files 10 years back. We are using Veeam for all other backups. How do other companies handle this issue? I am thinking of two sulutions: Have a VM with dropbox sync and then backup the VM Use a Synology NAS with CloudSync as a backup Any other, better ideas?710Views1like2CommentsCan't install from Download folder when DB backup is enabled!
After a fresh install of my MacBook Air, running latest macOS and Dropbox app I noticed I wasn't able to install apps with a .pkg installer. No matter what I tried, I always ended up with an error... After hours of searching the web, I ended up on this post:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254600885?login=true&page=1 The offered solution of moving the PKG to the Desktop folder didn't work for me, but then I realised that my Desktop folder is also marked to be backed up by Dropbox... after I moved the .pkg installer to a place outside of the reach of Dropbox back up it let me finally install it... I didn't liked the idea of moving my backup folders to a secret place and replacing them with shortcuts, and it disabled to ability to receive AirDrop files, but now it also doesn't allow using .pkg installers from the download folder, I really don't like it! Can you fix both AirDrop and the ability to install .pkg directly from the download folder again? Thanks!1.1KViews1like4Commentsadding attachment to dropbox sign template
Hello, I was hoping to add an attachment feature to the templates that I had setup on dropbox sign. I wanted my customers to be able to attach any documents they might need to attach to the template but I can't find that feature/icon when creating a template. Docusign seems to have this feature, does Dropbox?1.6KViews1like5Comments
