I'm on the basic dropbox plan (2GB) and my storage is full so I was going to upgrade but I have an important shared folder that is going to exceed 2GB. If I upgrade to the next tier will the other person (who hasn't upgraded past 2GB) still be able to open the shared folder or will they also have to upgrade?3Views0likes1CommentDeleted old account, opened a new one and computer files are gone. Anyway to retrieve them?
Hello, I deleted my account on dropbox and immediately opened a new one with a new email address. I thought the old files would be retained on my computer, but now it seems they are gone! The new dropbox folder on my laptop's hard drive is empty. The old files are not on the Recycle Bin of Windows. Are the files permanently delete? Can I retrieve or restore them somehow? Thanks.Solved14Views0likes1CommentTeam folders are available in the admin console but not in my local Dropbox folder
Is there any way to see the TEAM folders in the Windows Dropbox app? I have several folders designated as TEAM FOLDERS and others designated as SHARED FOLDERS. The SHARED FOLDERS display in the Windows Dropbox App, but the TEAM FOLDERS do not. The TEAM FOLDERS are only accessible via the browser under CONTENT. As I am only able to access TEAM folders via a browser, I am unable to see anything other than Name, Type, and Members for the files in a TEAMS folder. The ... (three dot) option doesn't give me any option to see any create date, last saved date, file size, etc information. The lack of this information makes a TEAMS folder difficult to manage. Maybe I am missing something. I would appreciate any tips.25Views0likes3CommentsDelete shared links in bulk
Dropbox you are killing me... you give me notifications that we have hundreds of links shared, but no bulk way to remove them. What's worse? While I can delete the thousands that I made over the last 3 years, I CANNOT DELETE FOR TEAM MEMBERS WHO HAVE LEFT. If you give me the warning there is a security issue of shared links, then have a quick resolution for it.12Views0likes0CommentsI cancelled my team plan and now I can't access any of my files
I had a dropbox business account for 3 users for several years. I closed the business and cancelled the dropbox subscription in march 2024. I thought i would be able to have access to the files after I stopped paying for the subscription because my Dropbox folder was on my C: drive of my computers, but i would lose the sharing capability. Well turns out most of my files were or are now set to “cloud only” or something like that and i cant access them on my c: drive. My old business account reverted to a basic, non paid account but i dont see any of my old files on that account. I still have all the old folders of my old dropbox account on my c drive but the files are in accessible. is there any way to get these files back?27Views0likes4CommentsCan I have multiple users, each with their own security?
I'm backing up User Folders for several friends. I'd like to be able to find a way to do that so each person can log on to an account and see only their own files. I don't care if they see other folder names ... I just don't want them to access the information in those folders. Is there a way to do this with Dropbox? Currently I back up everything to a local NAS. It works fine but lacks two things: the only person who can access the NAS and see the folders is me. Second, if I gave additional access to each user, then every user could see every other user's information. Thanks.32Views0likes3CommentsI switched email on my account and I don't see anything on account now
Hello! The organization I work for had a DropBox subscription under my email. Since I am leaving soon, I switched over the account to someone else. I logged in today and don't see any of our files and no sign of us having the DropBox Plus Subscription. Do you know what happened? Can I fix this??21Views0likes5CommentsMy files disappeared from my backup on the computer
I'm totally baffled! I appear to be paying for a service I'm not receiving. I joined Dropbox over a year ago, but realised only recently that nothing was being backed-up. My son, who is far more tech savvy than I am, thought he'd got it sorted. I could find my files in Backup - but they'd disappeared from my computer. Why? It's a Back-up, not a wipe clean! So over the holiday we tried again, as none of the recent files were backed-up. This time the files and folders which I'd had to recreate were Backed-up and remained on my computer BUT all the previously backed-up files and folders had disappeared from the Back-up - and this included 10 years work in my Family History Files. Where are they? They weren't even in the deleted folder! I'm now in a worse mess than if I'd never joined. What is going on? The program is far from intuitive, and is causing me a lot of aggravation.128Views0likes17Comments
