File requests
126 TopicsMy file request folders don't sync to my Dropbox desktop app from the website.
So I create a new file request, which automatically creates a folder within the File Request folder of Dropbox, But that specific request folder to which designated people can upload to, wont appear on my Windows file explorer. Why? It should sync automatically, but there's no way to make it visible on the PC. Help ON THE WEBSITE I CAN SEE "Informe semanal de Cancelados" a folder from a request. ON THE FILE EXPLORER DROPBOX WONT SYNC THOSE "REQUEST FILE FOLDERS" I want dropbox to automatically sync those dropbox generated "file request folders" and the files that people upload at them. I find drop box incredibly unreliable for transferring files. It's almost unusable with the web version. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The main issue I have is i have provided a Dropbox File Request link to a friend. They need to upload files for me each week. They use a web browser on their windows laptop. It almost always fails and they have to take 4 or 5 attempts and loads of wasted time, They have have a basic drop box account so dont seem able to use the drop box windows app. Is there anyway to get this to work or am i better just switching to wetransfer which has always been very reliable. We are both wasting so much time with dropbox each week. Life is too short!88Views0likes5CommentsWhy did the "request files" option get removed from the right-click options in the Dropbox folder?
Can someone provide some sort of explanation why the (Dropbox) 'Request files' function has disappeared from the drop-down menu (Mac). The function is still possible, but now it is buried away and (as far as I can establish) only accessible via a browser. This really makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If anyone could enlighten me about this "develpoment" I would be very grateful. Thank you27Views0likes1CommentFile request option when right-clicking a file on macOS is no longer available
This issue has been reported previously on the following link but is now closed to any further responses. This is an important feature that has been removed without notice or explanation. I have tried to post the hyperlink to the previous discussion, but you are not allowing this either. Please provide an update. Hi. Have just checked my Files, and the one I uploaded yesterday, plus a whole slew of others, is not there. I always get an email confirming when I've uploaded, but never checked the Box before, so it's a bit of a shock that most of my audition tapes are not there! Does this mean they were never actually uploaded after all? Does it make a difference that these were tapes requested OF me and not BY me? Seems odd and worrying. Thanks.24Views0likes1CommentMy file request files are named with "inbound" and a number
I have noticed that in my file request folder, there are several files named with a pattern such as inbound 116653248292738278 (as an example). I would appreciate it if you could help clarify the following: What does the "inbound" designation signify in this context? Is there a specific meaning or identifier associated with the sequence of numbers following "inbound"? Understanding this would help me manage the folder more effectively and ensure that all files are processed correctly.24Views0likes1CommentUsers don't get an email confirmation when uploading multiple files via file request.
I am trying to enable my users to upload files directly from their iPhones (Files apps) using a file request. When my users upload a single file (in response to clicking the file request link), they receive a confirmation message when complete. When they upload multiple files they receive no confirmation message. In both cases I, the account owner, receive messages indicating the users have submitted files, and the files are located the the correct DB folder associated with the file request. Thank you.Allow file requests via mobile app (Android, iOS)
Seems like this has been recommended in the past but was closed fairly quickly. Would definitely like to have this available on mobile, it's a hassle when I'm trying to create these on a go, and your mobile website is really clunky. Absolutely hate trying to do this on mobile web and it seems kind of silly not have the option in the mobile app. Would love to see this implemented!42Views0likes1CommentPut File Requests back on the menu prompt.
It was soooo simple to send a file request until dropbox took it off the "menu prompts" that appear in file explorer or finder. Just right click on the folder, select request files and then fill out the form. NOW its awful -- at least 13 steps - starting with needing to open dropbox on line - then fumbling around and eventually having to scroll through the entire file structure of my dropbox to find the folder i'm trying to attach the request to --- that last part is the absolute worst --- there's no way to search for the folder in some sensible way and THEN make a request -- PUT IT BACK ON THE MENU NOW --- you've negatively interrupted my work flow in a totally unnecessary and counter-productive way (and read your forums -- LOTS of people agree with me)51Views0likes3Comments
