I was trying to log in yesterday through mobile app but I was directed to sign up. I tried reseting my password instead. After successfully resetting my password, it turned out to be a new account with welcome message and product tour. All my information details, profile photo are gone and plans was back into 2gb storage and all my stored files was gone. Empty account! I didn't receive any email notification from Dropbox prior this incident.55Views0likes5CommentsShared Folder went missing
Dear all, Today is discovered that a shared folder I was using togehter with my wife vanished. Looking through the event page, I see an entry for November 18th,sataing "You have removedyour own access to the folder". Now, for my wife, I find the same message, even hough she is the owner of that folder. Nothing is shown in my deleted files section in the dropbox web app either. How can I get our files back?? Best regards20Views0likes4CommentsWhat happens to folders I move around on the Dropbox website?
Title, but, more context: I have files selective synced on my desktop and set to available in offline mode. On the website, suppose I move a Folder A into Folder B, when folder A was one of the synced folders on my desktop. What happens to folder A as it relates to the syncing on my desktop? Will I suddenly and automatically see Folder B also become available on my hard drive since folder A is now a part of it (ie it is now a nested folder and would need to see folder B to access folder A)? Hope this makes sense. I just don't want to radically mess up synced folders by moving them around on the site.7Views0likes1CommentHow can I restore files using the Dropbox cache folder?
i have a dropbox cache which i can see because i have hidden files viewable on my computer running win11. i need to recover these files locally because my original dropbox account is no longer active after not being able to manage it due to extended hospitalization. dropbox support stated i had enough time to respond to queries about them permanently deleting my locked account which in itself is an abuse against the disabled community. but i would like a way to recover these files locally so i can start a new db account and upload them to sync. thanks161Views0likes3CommentsI have two Dropbox folders in the CloudStorage folder on Mac OS, which is live?
Good morning,I need confirmation before proceeding with a deletion. Within the Library > CloudStorage folder on my Mac, I've found a duplicate Dropbox folder. One appears to be current, while the other seems to be an old version from last year. Before removing it, I'd like to make sure my assumption is correct. Could you please assist me with this? I've attached a screenshot for reference. As far as I recall, it could be a system copy created by Dropbox during the time there was an issue after updating to macOS Sonoma. Remember when Dropbox couldn't sync properly? We had to log out and then log back in to resolve it. I'm concerned this might be an old remnant from that period. Thank you.Solved684Views0likes3CommentsCan't copy a Dropbox folder to an external drive when using Mac OS
When I try to copy a Dropbox FOLDER to a SanDisk 1TB external drive, I get the message, "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0)." However, I have no problem copying an individual FILE to the drive. I'm using a Mac with Sonoma OS14.5. Any ideas on how to solve this?629Views0likes3CommentsI can't delete the Dropbox cache folder - it doesn't go away
The DropBox Cache folder is giving me issues. It simply will not go away, no matter how many times it is deleted. I know what it is, but its presence prevents both DropBox and OneDrive from syncing properly. How do permanently delete it729Views0likes4Comments
