Hello, With zero support from Dropbox Advanced support, I'm hoping as a community anyone can provide some guidance. I have a user in my organization who in the desktop app cannot open and edit xlsm files, no one else in our organization has this issue. According to ChatGPT, the file(s) and not corrupted and it is not a Microsoft issue. All xlsm files for this user are offline files. I employed autoruns and unchecked some Dropbox extensions to force open xlsm files as 'local' files without Dropbox trying to open the WOPI version, which is unusable. We have thousands xlsm files we use daily, and cannot nor should have to copy each file over to this users' desktop and copy them back to the desktop app as that is a huge waste of time. I'm confused why he is the only user that is impacted this way and hoping someone can provide some solutions so this user can use xlsm files in the desktop just like the rest of us. Thank you in advanced.200Views0likes12CommentsCannot preview online-only files in the Dropbox folder in Windows 11
I have my Dropbox app installed on my Windows 11 computer and can see my files in my dropbox folder in File Explorer. However, I cannot preview a PDF file in File Explorer on the Preview Pane UNLESS I open the file first and a green check mark appears next to the file. If the file is set to Online, or I don't open the file first, I cannot preview it. Just as an FYI, I can preview all files that are on my PC, or PDF files in my Dropbox folder that have a green checkmark, but preview does not come up on Dropbox files that don't have the green checkmark. Is there a way to preview these files without opening them or saving them on my PC first?Solved41Views1like2CommentsThe Microsoft desktop app was moved to WindowsApps Folder, and icons have changed
I installed the Dropbox app from the Windows App Store. Everything seems fine with syncing, but after about a day, the icons for the desktop shortcut and the folder in file explorer change to the default white paper icon. I have had this happen on two different Windows 11 machines. One is personal, one is at work. File syncing still works just fine. Poking around a bit, I found out that the desktop shortcut can't find the EXE for the icons. The whole Dropbox installation folder was moved to the hidden folder "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" and the default permissions of that folder do not allow users to access it. Additionally, the Dropbox icon on the desktop can't access it for its own icons! How does happen and how can it get fixed?74Views0likes8CommentsI'm getting an error in Microsoft Exchange when saving an attachment
Yesterday (05/12/20225) I started the Dropbox professional subscription trial. I had the free subscription prior to yesterday's move to the professional subscription. When using the Dropbox MS Exchange App to save an email attachment I'm getting the following error message: "Something went wrong. Please reload the add-in." However, I'm having no problem using the Dropbox MS Exchange App to share a file to an email that I'm creating. I'd like to be able to use Dropbox MS Exchange App to save an email attachment. Any suggestions to remedy this issue would be much appreciated.79Views0likes15CommentsI can't open my Excel files online. The website keeps loading and freezes.

Please help, I am in a HUGE panic. As of this morning, my Android Microsoft mobile apps no longer open my more than 1000 Dropbox files. I cannot save a newly created Microsoft file to Dropbox either. I have always been able to open and save my Dropbox files in the Android Microsoft apps (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel , etc) on my Pixel 8. I can no longer open files. Here's the message I get when I try to open a Dropbox file from within Microsoft Word: "Can't open file. [file name] is stored in an unsupported server location." If I try to open a file from within Dropbox, I get an error message that reads, "Can't complete task. Something went wrong. Please try again." I was initially able to open files within M365 Copilot, but I just started receiving the same message and I can't view any of my files. When I tried to connect a different Dropbox account, I received a message that said, "Access blocked: dropbox's request does not comply with Google's policies." Please note that the apps are all updated. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the apps in addition to restarting my phone. Furthermore, my Pixel device is properly linked to my Dropbox account PLEASE HELP!!205Views0likes27CommentsFile Deletion via VBA so that I can stop the relevant Dropbox prompt when deleting files.
Trying to program around an annoyance. I am using VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) with Microsoft Access to work with files, our team will generate reports and then put them in shared folders on Dropbox automatically for specific users to review. Once the user has processed the document, we can delete them I notice that in File Explorer when we delete files from a shared Dropbox folder, it always asks if we want to delete it from everyone or just my computer. Is there a way when I do this via VBA to not have that message pop up as we will be working with hundreds of report files, many which will get deleted or replaced. Having to constantly click the message can make my users very annoyed.43Views0likes6CommentsI want to edit and save my updated document to a new location, instead of auto-save.
I have a master document saved in Dropbox. I'm trying to open the document and make changes to it then save it as a new document in a different folder without saving the changes to the "master" document. My problem seems to be autosave as every time I make a change to the master, it auto saves, not allowing me to save to a new folder and keep the original as a master copy. How do I solve this problem? Thanks45Views0likes5Comments
