2020 TopicsWhere are "available offline" Dropbox files and folders stored on Android devices?
I know this question has been asked a million times (I've googled it), but I still can't find where my offline files are stored on my phone. I've looked in SD card>Android>data>com.dropbox.android>files, but it's empty. However, in the Dropbox app, I've marked a file as "Available offline", it shows the little green icon on the right indicating that it's been downloaded, and I can open it. So where is it? The reason I ask is that I want to be able to play MP3 files in a music player (either Google Play Music or VLC), I don't want to have to open each MP3 individually in Dropbox to play it. But I have to tell VLC where the folder is that contains the MP3 files. Seems very simple, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Am I the only one having this problem? It doesn't seem like such a strange thing to request.Solved168KViews22likes16CommentsWhy have new Camera Upload files changed to the format "Photo abc"?
At some point over the last few months, Dropbox randomly stopped uploading my photos from my iPhone 13 (iOS17 and now 18). After lots of poor app behaviour, I eventually managed to re-enable it, having manually been uploading files for quite some time. As soon as I pointed it back at the right folder, it started uploading... but with the word "Photo" in front of the filename!! So thanks to this stupidity, I now have hundreds of duplicate photos, called things like "2024-09-18 19.38.54.jpg" and "Photo 18-09-24, 19 38 54.jpg". So not only has it completely renamed it, it's ruined all possibilities to sort by title. As a final slap in the face, it's processed the images to half their size and reduced the quality! So, Dropbox... how do I disable this ridiculous "feature" that some imbecile decided would be good to suddenly implement?161KViews0likes11CommentsHow can I download music from my Dropbox account to an iPhone?

I am trying to export an MP4 from my Dropbox to my Iphone 6c iOS 10.3.3 but am repeatedly getting the 'sorry this type of video cannot be saved to this device'. Have searched around the internet and found this question asked loads of times, yet am unable to find a clear answer as to what the cause is/how to get around this. I've exported the video from premiere, just to ensure I'm not doing anything wrong I've added a screenshot of the export settings below. Any help much appreciated as it's incredibly frustrating. Thanks.Solved137KViews1like7CommentsCan I delete photos from my phone after uploading them without deleting them from Dropbox too?
Here's the essence of the problem: I have DropBox Pro installed on an iPhone 5s, iPad Air, MacBook Pro and Windows desktop computer. I do NOT want to clog up my iPhone, iPad and MacBook with files from DropBox. I want to simply upload and then delete them from the mobile devices. I'd like to use automatic Camera Upload but when I delete the photos from my iPhone or iPad I do NOT want them deleted from DropBox...as has happened on numerous occasions (most recently when I exchanged a broken iPhone for a new one and then tried to copy content from one to the other and subsequently delete unwanted photos...on the iPhone, not "unwanted" from my DropBox space). So how do I do a one way sync? Keep in mind that after photos appear in the Camera Upload folder, I MOVE them to a different desired location...and when they're deleted from my iPhone, they are still deleted from the new location!Solved128KViews8likes45CommentsWhy are my iPhone photos imported as .heic files when uploading them to my Dropbox account?
Why are my photos from iPhone suddenly imported as .heic files to Dropbox? This only happened this week, say on Tuesday (July 4th). Has never happened before. Now I cannot see these photos on the desktop version of Dropbox. On the Dropbox app for iPhone, I see the files (with the ending .heic) but I cannot open them and cannot preview them. What has happened and how do I fix this?Solved110KViews2likes15CommentsHow do I open PDF files from Dropbox on Android devices?

All videos from iPhone X have sound but the video image is missing when downloaded to myPC running Windows 10. The videoswere shot on multiple video apps with the same result. The result is the same for automatically synced videos (Camera Uploads Folder) or uploaded manually with the ios app. The videos appear to play normally within the Dropbox web app but when downloaded to my PC the problem occurs. I have an iPhone 6s connected to the same Dropbox account and the videos are normal.Solved98KViews0likes4CommentsRequest for Dark Mode for the Website and the Desktop (including Paper)
