132 TopicsExcel keep opening an old version of a file
Hi all. I use a tablet (Samsung) to open excel 'quote sheets' that are stored on dropbox. I always open the same file then use the 'save as' to save it under the customer's name. The problem is when there has been a slight alteration to the original file, my tablet seems to want to open the version before! The only way I can stop it doing this is to call the 'quote sheets' something slightly different ('quote sheet 1'). I do go onto drop box and have that file available offline and when the 'quote sheet' has been altered it does update itself so drop box knows that there is a newer version but as soon as I open it with excel the old version pops up again! Anybody had this issue? I have put this question on the Microsoft website and they said it was a dropbox problem! (Passing the buck comes to mind!) https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel-mso_other-mso_o365b/excel-keep-opening-an-old-version-of-a-file/721c23a8-b672-4a3d-93ca-152ab6475cc1 Thanks in advance ;-) JoeSolved48KViews1like7Comments'Can not upload the file' error when attaching from Dropbox to Gmail on Android

iphone 6 latest ios in dropbox ios app (and on Mac Desktop), both my DB accounts show up. In mail, go to "attach file" and no DB accountsshow up in Locations. In ios Files, no DB accountsshow up in Locations. This happened last time there was a major ios upgrade, and we had to stand around while DB blamed Apple. (Please join this with the same issue feedback I just sent, that DB just acknowlkedged with a link that I can't open using these credentials - add feedback toTHIS Q&A please, not the other way around)Solved46KViews6likes21CommentsEditing PDFs in Dropbox from my iPad
I'm trying to edit/markup PDFs that I have stored in Dropbox from my iPad. I'm using an Apple Pencil that's capable of "markup." The adobe integration was meant to be the answer for this; however, Adobe is now charging extra for the ability to edit. Apple allows you to edit Dropbox PDFs nicely through files; however, this seems to be hit or miss as sometimes the files won't open or get re-directed to Dropbox. Are there other ways to edit PDFs from the iPad and have it sync with Dropbox? This would seem like it should be a top priority for an added feature. OneDrive, for example, has the functionality built directly into their app. Any help would be much appreciated.Solved38KViews9likes12CommentsDownload a Folder to Android
This is SO frustrating. I have a real need to download entire folders to my android device. For some years I have used the FILE DOWNLOADER FOR DROPBOX from Play Store. I had to reset my android device and now I find the app is no longer available. No other third party apps seem to do this. So anyone know whether I can do this from Dropbox these days (without accessing dropbox .com) or of a third party app?30KViews3likes13CommentsPDF files open as read only on Acrobat Reader (on Android)
I haven't had any problem editing PDF files on my Android tablet until now. I simply opened dropbox, and opened the PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox. Lately, when I open a PDF in Adobe Acrobat from dropbox, I get an error message telling me I can only open the file read-only. This applies to all my files. When I open a PDF directly from Adobe Acrobat, I don't have this problem. I suspect this is related to a recent update of either app.Solved28KViews5likes40CommentsAbility to attach Dropbox files to email in Mail app on Ipad has disappeared
I have regularly been able to attached documents from Dropbox when creating an email on OSX Mail app. However, now I am not able to. Steps that fail are below: Create email on iPad with Mail. Tap on the paper clip icon OR tap in the body to get banner of options, including Add Attachment Window opens with file access options; under LOCATIONS, find ICloud Drive, On My IPad, and Recently Deleted. No Dropbox option. No MORE... button anywhere to add Dropbox as a choice for Mail to attach documents. I have looked in Settings for a way to tell either Dropbox to allow access or Mail to get access to Dropbox. No success yet. Please, any solution? I have found discussion of problem with Outlook and referral to Microsoft, but there is no MS Office involvement in this issue. Thanks in advance.Solved28KViews2likes20CommentsiOS Files App Favorites Folder Disappear

Hello, I am using Dropbox (v206.5) on my iPad (up to date with IOS 14.01) and for most word documents I am able to open them from Dropbox app and edit them in word with no problem. Periodically, when I open them, the document will open in word, but I am unable to make changes to the document (can't even type or change text). I have checked to make sure that the documents are not "read only" and I when I try to open the documents on another device (my iMac), I am able to open and modify the documents with no problem. I have also check to make sure that the documents are not open on any other device. I have also tried to uninstall and re-install both the Microsoft word app and the Dropbox app on my iPad. Any other ideas on what may be going on? thanks in advance.19KViews0likes27CommentsDropbox unstable in iPad OS Files App.
The problem I have is that Dropbox seems to crash when running on an iPAD via the apple files app. If I open an application that uses the files app, such as Pages or Final Draft, when saving to the Dropbox via the files app, it crashes the app and for the next 4 to 5 minutes if I click on drop box via the files app it just doesn’t load. Apple has confirmed this is a Dropbox issue (I raised it with them first), and I have not been able to crash the application(s) using Google Drive via files in the same way. Can anyone help?Solved18KViews4likes155Comments
