Templates for folders and stored permissions
It would be greaty beneficial if Dropbox could store the permisions for a template folder. I currently have a new job folder(Template folder) that i have the accounting folder locked for only the sales and accounting teams. I would like when i copy this folder to have it remember the permissions for each folder. Multiple Jobs a day are set up and would appreciate not having to go through and limit every single subfolder. I saw this was a request 3 years ago and nothing was done. Please let me know if you need more clarification as I am happy to provide any information to get this done.
Dropbox account seems to have been hacked, how can I proceed?
An unauthorized person hijacked our basic Dropbox account and sent an email invite to an undisclosed number of recipients. The content of the email invite may have malicious content/link to a .pdf file. We noticed the unusual behavior as the owner of the Dropbox account was overseas (unaware) and the recipients tried to contact the Dropbox owner to see if it was legit or not. We reset the password and set the 2-factor authentication. However, today a ‘Reminder’ email notification was sent out by the same account to an unknown number of recipients. Questions: How do you determine (who) the email addresses the initial invitation email was sent to and the number of recipients? We want to send an email blast to warn them not to click on the link in the invite. How do you disable the reminder email notification of the original invitation? Any other advice? I was using my account and then after coming back to my account an hour later the log in now fails and saidsThis account has been marked as inactive. Contact the team admin, which is my account. No explanation or way to solve this has been given, it cant be due to inactivity because I was just using it.
Family Room - cannot customize sharing settings
Hi, I have a family plan and I'm the admin. That plan makes available to every member a shared folder "Archivio Famiglia" that stands for "Family Room" I guess. My need is to setup customized credentials to my family members, for instance, I want to give view or edit access to specific folder only. Looking at the documentation Dropbox states that it's possible to set credentials in every sub-folder.. but I don't see (from web UI) any option in menu.
This setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate
Hi all - I have a shared folder. If I have it set so that "Only people invited can access", how would that change for a collaborator? I see the note "This setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate" and just want to ensure that only people added can view/edit the folder and the link can't be shared with others.
Prevent the Dropbox settings from being changed (OSX)
Is there a way to prevent the Dropbox settings from being changed via the icon in the taskbar? I would like a co-user of my OSX laptop to only have access to certain folders in my Dropbox. I have hidden all other folders in Dropbox in his user setup, but the settings can still be changed at any time via the taskbar icon. Can this be set via the user permissions in OSX? I shared files with edit rights, but the recipients can't edit them.
Hello! I have shared files with 2 members and gave them editing access. They can open dropbox on their end and see the file but cannot edit. One user was able to open a file in another window and make edits but they did not appear in the shared file. We have a family plan if that matters. Help!
