Hello I would like to suggest a new tier of $5 a month for a 5 gig basic plan. Right now, I use the free 2gig basic because I literally can’t afford the $12 a month annual package. But I dislike being a freeloader, when I get a service that has use and value to me. I would consider $5 a month an appropriate subscription rate for the low amount of storage I require, and the features in the Basic free plan. I like Dropbox, and importantly, I trust it. A 5 gig $5/month plan would work for me (and probably others in similar financial circumstances), as I try to build my business back up and start making more money. Thanks!21Views0likes1CommentHow can I convert my Dropbox account from personal to Business Essentials?
I have a personal plus account. I started a small business and need the business essentials to use with a few clients. I don't see this option on the upgrade page. Is this possible? Thanks. I don't see any help or threads on this. I see articles about convert from personal to team member, but that's not my situation.48Views0likes10CommentsAllow a personal account to have more than 3 TB, or more than 4 TB with the add on
Hello, I'm a graphic designer with over 15 years of workload. This obviously equates to extreme files sizes. I was disappointed to learn Dropbox don't offer a package for single users over 3TB. I work solely and require more cloud space and don't want to have to upgrade to a 'per user' plan as this isn't cost effective. This option has to become available soon.57KViews166likes198CommentsWhy is Dropbox charging Irish VAT to UK customers?
The UK left the EU to all intents and purposes on 1 January 2021. Businesses providing digital services to Britain from outside Britain are obliged to register for British VAT from that date and their invoices should show a British VAT number: "If you’re selling digital services from the EU to the UK you will need to register and account for VAT." from paragraph 2.5 on https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accounting-for-vat-on-goods-moving-between-great-britain-and-northern-ireland-from-1-january-2021/accounting-for-vat-on-services-between-the-uk-and-eu-member-states-from-1-january-2021 A search shows that Irish VAT is not applicable to supplies such as these outside the EU, because the place of supply is considered to be where the service is used (not supplied). British VAT is probably applicable, in which cases a British VAT number should be quoted on Dropbox invoices. Dropbox should supply a VAT invoice with a British VAT number on it. The Irish VAT invoice is incorrect. This would mean that the VAT is payable to the British government (and reclaimable if the customer is VAT registered in Britain). Please can anyone explain why Dropbox invoices charge Irish VAT? Many thanks.6.8KViews0likes16CommentsPop-ups in my Basic account keep prompting me to re-subscribe to Plus
Hi, I have been using the Basic Plan for a while now and it has worked well. Recently, I have been getting an annoying popup requesting that I resubscribe to the Plus Plan eventhough I have always been using the Basic Plan. The popup states "Welcome back, Michael! We noticed that your subscription has ended. Resubscribe now to not miss out on advanced productivity features and 2,000 GB or more of space." It shows my current plan as Basic with the 'Current Plan' button greyed out and prompts me to resubscribe to the Plus Plan. The popup is very annoying and interferes with the smooth running of Dropbox. Also, any new items I add, via the browser webpage, do not show up on any device. How can I stop this popup as I want to continue with the basic plan? Regards,84Views0likes11CommentsI need a more economical plan for extra quota
I greatly appreciate my free access to Dropbox features, and would like to upgrade to a better plan. Unfortunately, I can't justify $12/month for the most economical plan offered. I don't really even need 1TB of space, but would certainly be willing to subscribe to such a plan for $8/month, or less. (I can't imagine that there aren't plenty of others like me.)14Views0likes2CommentsMy account was downgraded to a Basic plan, how can I reactivate my paid service?
On January 14th, Dropbox canceled my Plus account, the day after I paid for a year of service. A week later, after many emails to technical support, they reactivated it as a Basic (free) account. What should one do (apart from sending daily emails to Technical Support and Finance) to receive the paid service? Has anyone else had this experience?56Views0likes9CommentsIs there support for non-profit organizations?
I run a nonprofit foundation that helps get people to work (the KeelWorks Foundation). Dropbox would be very helpful, but we haven't the funds to pay staff, so we have to be very careful with our money. The words "nonprofit", "charity", and 501c3 yield zero results. So... no luck for us?15Views0likes2Comments
