45 TopicsDeleting files then permanently deleting doesn't free up space!?!
Hi, I've seen others with the same issue. I had promotional space added to my account. I used up quite a lot of this space. When my promotion ran out I was naturally over my quota. I then logged on online using the web interface and deleted live files. This had no effect, the amount of used space is not decreasing regardless of what I delete. I tried to permanently delete them but this also had no effect. I thought that perhaps it was because the data was kept on my sync'd devices, so I disassociated all devices, again this had no effect. I looked in depth at every support article online, nothing provides any insight or resolution beyond what I have tried and had no success with. Now either I buy more space or I can no longer upload to Dropbox. It has been weeks with no difference. I have contacted support but I get automated responses to look at their knowledge base, which I had naturally done before but tried again. No Luck. Please help. As Albert Einstein said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” Dropbox are sending me insane! I have one more option. Delete everything so that there is literally nothing in my Dropbox, but I would imagine given the above that it would make no difference and no one is helping!Solved13KViews3likes11CommentsQuicken Coupon for 100GB Didn't Add the Storage
Quicken has given me a coupon for 100GB of free Dropbox space. In the notice, they directed me to navigate tohttps://www.dropbox.com/couponand to enter the code they've provided. I believe these were the steps I took: I navigated to that URL, entered the code and clicked Submit. I landed on the "login" page and selected the Google login method. I successfully logged in, but see that my storage is still ~7GB, and the 100GB did not apply. When I go to redeem the coupon again (by doing the same steps but now already being logged in), I get an error stating, "The code you entered has already been used." Apparently this is the only way I can get in contact with Dropbox support. Please reach out to me. Thank you.2.9KViews1like20CommentsWhy was my Dropbox quota reduced?
I alternate between using Dropbox on my laptop (Windows 10), and the Dropbox Android app on my tablet. I just started up Dropbox on my laptop and got a Windows notification saying my Dropbox space had been "reduced." ? I couldn't tell by how much, though; it listed 1000-something GB, which seems like how much space I should have, since I'm on the paid 1TB plan. I checked the settings in the desktop app and it says I'm using 2.0% of 1,027.2GB (site says I'm using 20.99GB out of 1TB). I don't know if that's the exact amount of GB space I had before, but I know I was using up 2% earlier, so that hasn't changed. I checked my account settings, I'm not due to renew my subscription until June. Still on the paid plan. Checked my deleted files on the Dropbox site; nothing recent. I hadn't even made any changes to any files between now and the last time I used Dropbox, so I don't know why I'd suddenly get this notification. I can't even tell by how much it was supposedly reduced? (The notification disappeared as soon as I read it.) I have no notifications on the Dropbox site or in the desktop app. (Haven't checked my tablet yet.) Any idea what might have prompted this or what it means? Is it something to do with Windows rather than Dropbox? If so, what? There's no chance I've lost any files? (They're all saved to my hard drive, but in the Dropbox folder.)Solved9.1KViews1like8Comments
