Quota
4 TopicsUnable to delete files... which cannot be unlocked
I am attempting to delete some rather large files from my wife's computer so she can update to the latest version, Big Sur, for her Macbook Air. She previously downloaded the files from her minister's Bible study forum on Dropbox. She can easily access them from Dropbox.com, so I thought it possible to delete her dropbox folder. Unfortunately, the files did not go away and the Dropbox folder doesn't show up in Finder. I found a lot of the files by searching for the large Zoom files. When I try to delete these files individually, they are locked and will not unlock. The system says she does not have the appropriate permission. I can't change the permissions. How can I delete these files? Note the following screenshot. The Dropbox folder appears to be located in the Documents folder, but it does not show up; it is hidden and I do not know how to unhide it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. I purchased a Plus account and then shared a folder with about 700Gb of data in it with two people who do not already have DropBox account by sharing it to their email accounts. The setting was chosen that only invited people and can view or edit the contents. The first said that when he created a free DropBox account it told him did not have enough space to view this shared folder Does the recipient of a shared folder have to pay for Dropbox capacity to be able to read a folder?Solved1.8KViews0likes5Commentsjust reading a dropbox folder
hi, I was invited to join a dropbox folder which is to heavy for my account. I am just interested in reading the folder, not editing or uploading something. Is it possible to just read without the need to buy storage volume? And is it possible to read a folder without having a dropbox account, just by opening a link? My plan has expired and I want to remove all of my files from Dropbox. You would say that I should just set up sync and then I'll have a copy of all my files locally, but my Dropbox stats say that I have 785Gb in Dropbox, but my supposedly-completed sync only takes up 108Gb on my disk. Why is there such a disparity, and how do I know all my files have synced? Isn't there some way I can just download them in bulk? If I try to select even single directories it says the files are too big to zip. I honestly feel like Dropbox wants me to upgrade and are doing everything they can to make leaving their product impossible, and this is starting to drive me a little nuts. Thanks for any help!507Views0likes3Comments
