45 TopicsUser restrictions on bulk deletion or moving
It would be great if it were possible to set a user so they cannot perform bulk deletions or moves of files. One of the users, who does not have admin rights, accidentally moved a folder with 350,000 files. As a result, we lost the functionality of the links when returning the folder back. It would therefore be great if some users could be restricted so that it is not possible to move or delete files beyond a certain quota.229Views1like3CommentsDisable folder deletion in team space for team members
We have issues with users accidentally deleting entire folders, unfortunately this seems to happen on our larger teams that have a lot of data in their folders. This means a lot of down time waiting for help recovering the folders/files. We regularly train our users not to delete folders but it happens anyway. Our users need to be able to edit files, but there is no reason for them to be able to delete entire folders. Having a function to prevent users from being able to delete at the Folder level would prevent a lot of down time as well as having to escalate recovery to DropBox.254Views0likes3CommentsOption to select and delete multiple shared links
There was a request for this feature back in 2018 but looks like nothing was done. I want the option in the "Shared", "File requests", and "Deleted files" menus to select multiple files at once, or "Select All" and delete them in one click. Right now, we have to manually go to each link/file individually and click the 3 dots to the right and delete the link. This is super inefficient and cumbersome and there needs to be an option to select all or choose multiple links/files at once and process them together. Perhaps including updating the settings across shared links as well as a checkbox/multiselection feature so if preferences change across multiple links, they can be edited and updated via a checkbox feature.1KViews1like3CommentsRequest for Multi-Delete Contracts Feature on Dropbox Sign
Dear Team, I trust this message finds you well. I currently have 15 pages of pending signature contracts that need to be deleted on Dropbox Sign. However, the process of deleting each one individually is quite time-consuming. Could you please consider implementing a feature that allows for the selection and deletion of multiple contracts simultaneously? Thank you.739Views0likes2CommentsAdd option to auto-delete original file after it's been converted via automation
Add an option to the automation workflow to delete a file after it's been converted. Use case: I have automation set up on a folder to convert all .heic to .jpg. However after the conversion, there's no way to automatically delete the original .heic and just keep the new .jpg. Thus I'm wasting a lot of space on duplicate images, and have to manually go in and delete the heic's. I previously submitted this idea and it received several votes but was closed due to inactivity. Starting a new idea because this feature would be really useful and I hope it gets implemented.329Views0likes2CommentsSelect All Function in Deleted Files Page
Select All Function in Deleted Files Page My DropBox is facing an issue where thousands of files are being deleted. Restoring these files would be much easier if there was the ability to select all files. Regardless of my situation, this function would make sense. I have tried Command + A on the webpage but this does not work. If the ability is there can you please explain765Views2likes5CommentsAdd option to auto-delete original file after it's been converted via automation

Provide a security option that, when enabled, requires users (including admins) to always enter a 2FA code when attempting to change any security related settings. A 2FA code should also be required on any attempt to permanently delete files/folders from Dropbox Rewind. The idea is to prevent ransomware attacks from being able to compromise the user's ability to restore their files. In short, there is a need to prevent the type of situation that happened to this poor fellow: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Delete-edit-and-organize/Lost-Files-that-were-permanently-deleted-after-ransomware/td-p/694211541Views0likes2CommentsDropbox Capture - Additional Features to Increase Productivity
I have been using dropbox capture on a daily basis for the past 6+ months and have completely replaced "Snipping Tool" on windows. I love that the pictures are automatically saved in dropbox, but I believe the below features could increase productivity even further. While most of the time I delete the unwanted pictures by directly opening the capture folder on my computer, I think it would be useful if a feature to select multiple screenshots or videos recorded directly from the dropbox capture website allowed me to delete them easily. Also, while deleting pictures one by one on the website, it asks every time whether I want to delete or not for every picture. It would be great if it allowed an option like "Don't ask again for 30 minutes". Also, if there is a way to change the thumbnail size on the dropbox capture website so we can see what's in the screenshot that would be great. Maybe add a hover feature to increase the size of the picture temporarily. In addition, the capabilities to sort files stored in Dropbox Capture by Videos and Pictures would be useful. An additional option could be the time they were stored etc. I do like that the most recent one shows up at the top of the page on the website. Lastly, another feature to maybe automatically show all screenshots on the website instead of selecting "Load More" to view additional features would really save some time.6.3KViews3likes14CommentsPrevention of Local Data Loss on Account Deletion for users with syncing issues
Our organization recently purged a user account that no longer had any data stored in Dropbox on the web. Unbeknownst to us, the user's Desktop client had not synchronized for over a year. The user seldom used Dropbox and ignored or missed error messages presented by the client (support indicated that the client had been in an error state throughout the available logging period). Unfortunately, the user had also opted to back up their Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folders during the Dropbox install, which re-homed these folders within the Dropbox folder. We took the default option to purge local data upon deletion of the account, and while the client couldn't successfully synchronize data, it was able to successfully purge the local Dropbox folder, including 1+ years' worth of unsynchronized data. Admins should have a way to identify clients in an error state, and they should be warned that data may be lost before purging an account with clients that are failing to synchronize.418Views0likes2Comments
