The new Microsoft Teams integration is great; we can now open shared links directly on the Desktop via the native app, which is a great time saver. Only bug for the integration is that users have to login to Dropbox via Teams every other day. It loses the login authorization and the 'open file in app' function is then not available anymore. Users need to login everyday in to Dropbox via Teams to make it work again.71Views0likes4CommentsCannot create links to share files. "We’ve suspended your sharing activity" error.
Dear Dropbox Support Team, It's been a while since I actively used dropbox, apart via a service to back it up and sync it. Today, I logged in via web to share some pictures, and I got this message: Can’t share file Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropbox’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement. About a year ago (maybe more) I did indeed detect a virus in a file hosted in my dropbox, and I deleted it at the time. I guess the same virus was detected by dropbox systems and there's a ban in my account since then. I’d appreciate it if you could review my account and lift the sharing ban. I'm currently facing an issue where certain users in our Dropbox environment have the ability to share things in Team folders that they have access to. While the sharing feature works great for sharing with specific other employees, sometimes people share to the Everyone Atgroup where it results in hundreds of employees receiving email notifications that something has been shared with them. It is usually immediately unshared, but then that just creates a lot of confusion. For some context, we are in the process of migrating from local shared folders to Dropbox, and all groups other than theEveryone At group are IT-managed through AD sync. We would also like to keep the Everyone At group of possible for us to share out any documents to all employees if needed. Is there a way to restrict a users ability to see groups, or to restrict their ability to share to them?13Views0likes1CommentDelete shared links in bulk
Dropbox you are killing me... you give me notifications that we have hundreds of links shared, but no bulk way to remove them. What's worse? While I can delete the thousands that I made over the last 3 years, I CANNOT DELETE FOR TEAM MEMBERS WHO HAVE LEFT. If you give me the warning there is a security issue of shared links, then have a quick resolution for it.12Views0likes0CommentsGetting the file version history on MacOS
I have just noticed something odd regarding versioning in macos files… when I view a TextEdit RTF document on my co-worker's computer, we are able to browse through many versions using 'Revert to…' When I try the same on my local copy synced with dropbox I can only see 3 versions back and the one I'm looking for can't be accessed. Also after we rolled back my co-workers copy of the RTF to an earlier version, my copy still hasn't changed. Does dropbox not support versioning at all?40Views0likes1CommentMake it easier to remove external collaborators on a Dropbox team
in our account, we currently have 89 external collaborators that I would like to remove. Each collaborator has on average 40 files shared with them and it currently takes four clicks to remove each shared file so 89 x 40 x 4 = 14,240 clicks. I don't have that kind of time or patience. Right now, I guess I just leave them and hope they don't access the files any longer. In the future, we just will not use the exterior collaborator feature - seems completely unworkable.51Views1like6CommentsCannot see the files shared with me in my finder.
Hi! I can see my dropbox folders&files in the finder. However, I cannot see the 'files' shared with me in my finder. Please note, files that were shared with me is not in a folder - just the excel documents were shared. On the other hand, I can see the shared files on the dropbox item attached to menu bar (top dock). Please help!21Views0likes1CommentPeople asked to create account when viewing my files
If I send a link to one of my folders and the person via the link is taken to the opening page, they find they are confronted with a banner asking them to creat an account. One can clic outside of the banner and it disappears and they have access to the files. But a few people found the banner intimidating and figured they had to create an account and abandoned their attempt to view the files. Is there a way to turn this marketing off?38Views0likes3CommentsI have logged onto my Dropbox account and all of my files are missing.
Hi, I have logged onto my Dropbox account and all of my files are missing. I have not been on in a couple of months and now everything is gone. I looked through deleted files and events. Nothing shows up. Is this something that can happen? What is the problem? They were definitely on this account.78Views0likes10CommentsRemove "Login/SignUp" Dialog box from shared link download
Currently, when I send a client a link to download a file using the Dropbox share file functionality, they are directed to a preview page. When they click the Download button, they are presented with a dialog box prompting them to sign in or sign up for Dropbox. At the bottom of this dialog box, in text that more closely resembles a legal disclaimer, they are given the option to download without signing up. As a paid user, I cannot entertain this dark UI feature. If I need to provide clients with an instruction manual on how to work around a dark UI feature, then it makes me look really cheap and really hacky. Not only does it make me look bad, but it's also a really nasty look for the Dropbox brand.82Views3likes5Comments
