Shared Files
91 TopicsTrying to share pdf/doc with my comments, comments not visible by recipients
I have made comments on some students' papers. They are visible on my end. They are also visible on my professors' end. They are NOT visible when they share them back to the students. If we download the files to make sharing easy for the students, there are no comments anymore for the students to see.How can I take ownership of shared files?

Hi Dropbox Community, I’m reaching out as a long-time Dropbox user of over 10 years, and I’m currently in a tough situation. Yesterday, I received a message saying, "We’ve interrupted your sharing activity because your files might contain phishing content," - I cannot share ANY folders or files and this is really going to impact my small business. I rely heavily on Dropbox to share essential documents like PDFs, Word files, and Excel spreadsheets with my clients DAILY. This interruption has left me unable to collaborate, and it will undoubtedly cause many embarrassing moments. I’m worried it will make me look unreliable to my clients, which is definitely not the impression I want to give. The potential effect on my business and income is quite concerning. I appreciate all of Dropbox's security measures, but I’m reaching out to see if anyone here has faced a similar issue or has advice on how to resolve this quickly. Restoring my file-sharing capabilities is critical for my operations. Thank you for any help or insights you can provide!152Views0likes1CommentUsing Dropbox as a photo library accessed by multiple others
Hi Everyone. Can you help please. I currently manage a photo library on Dropbox through my Essentials level account, and the library is 60GB and growing. For my audience of 50 people who want access to view and download all the images as they are uploaded, will they all have to purchase better than Dropbox Basic level accounts to gain access due the library size? Is there another way as I am not sure each client company will be happy paying out for 25 or so Dropbox Plus accounts (even though I know it is much cheaper than any other solution!). Is Dropbox Teams are possible solution ? Can the client company set up one Dropbox Plus account called say, access@clientcompany.comand all their team use that single email to gain access to the photo library ? Thanks so much !Solved499Views0likes3CommentsI need to transfer a file's ownership to another member.
I volunteered to collect family photos and create a slideshow for a funeral for my friend’s family member. I apparently I am the owner of this slideshow’s file, which is eating up a lot of my storage. It’s been five years now and I’d like to delete it, but feel I should transfer ownership of it to a family member in case they want access to it. I would rather it reside in their storage than mine. I followed the directions to transfer ownership to one of the people in the shared group, going to “manage permissions” but the drop down arrow does not offer that option like the directions said it would. Everyone else in the group only has the “can view” option. How can I transfer ownership and get this slide show out of my storage?135Views0likes1Comment"Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe" error when viewing shared files.
Hey, I have been trying to view some shared files but they always pop up the error: "Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check our Status Page to see if there is a known incident, our help centre and forums for help, or go back to home." Can somebody share a work around here?547Views0likes9CommentsHow many people can access a link to a shared file at once?
Hello hive mind! I wanted to share a file with photos with 70 people. They are now getting an error message saying that the link has been temporarily disabled because too many people have accessed it. Question 1) What is the limit? I haven't found that information anywhere on Dropbox, and the live sales agent couldn't answer the question either. Question 2) Does that limit change depending on the plan? I upgraded to a DB pro plan, but the link is still temporarily disabled. Question 3) I then tried DB Transfer. It didn't work either. It won't create the transfer. I can now send up to 50GB (I only want to send 1.13) but it says there's an error creating the transfer. I'm super frustrated. Can anyone help? I can't even access support... 😕 Thanks in advance, Paula_H109Views0likes1Comment
