I copy download links all day from the Mac Finder. It would be great to assign a key command so that you can highlight a file in your Dropbox via Mac Finder, and press a key command to copy the link instead of right clicking.Solved16KViews41likes67CommentsSlide show feature removed
Viewing a folder of photos as a slide show is a basic feature which was previously available in Dropbox but has been removed. In my view this is a fundamental capability. I would like to send a link to others to let them view files easily without clicking/swiping on every shot and without downloading all the files.I don't get it. Slide shows worked very well before.13KViews15likes9CommentsShared Link / "scl" to "s"
Hello. My question concerns my recent issue with file sharing. Usually, my links were generated in this way: 'https://www.dropbox.com/s/'. However, lately, every file is being generated in this way: 'https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/'. Do you know a way to restore the old way of generating links? I just need old way of links, because game can't read new links Greet 😛Solved92KViews14likes211CommentsWhy does a dl.dropboxusercontent.com download link behave differently?
A friend and I share mp3 files through dropbox though I use dropbox.cm and he uses dl.dropboxusercontent.com. The link I send him looks and behaves differently than the one he sends me. He gets a button to download the file while his link opens Windows Media Player and I must go through a few more steps to download the file. This is non-copyrighted material, by the way. The only way to get his link when clicked is to add a suffix with the characters - ?dl=0 to the end of the link. What gives with this?Solved187KViews10likes22CommentsHow to Workaround "Zip File is Too Large" Error
I'm sharing a multitude of large files with colleagues via a Dropbox link that are nearly 120GB in size. However, they're telling me Dropbox doesn't allow them to download it due to an error saying the "zip file is too large". Confused, I tried the link on an incognito browser to see for myself, and I see the error too. Why is there a download file size limitation? My colleagues don't have Dropbox accounts of their own to transfer these files to (and I doubt they'd be willing to to make paid accounts to do it), and I'm not giving my account login info to them (as a few threads on this issue suggested) to be able to download it via the Desktop app. I saw in a thread made a few years ago that Dropbox is easily capable of raising the file size download limit. They did it some months after someone complained about there being a 1 Gigabyte download size limit. Why don't they raise the download size limit much higher?(Or better yet, not have a limit at all?) I'm a paying customer, and the very reason I subscribed to Dropbox in the first place was to have a cloud service to store and share large files with people. If I wanted to deal with sharing smaller file sizes, I wouldn't even be paying for Dropbox's 2TB plan to begin with. I'd be using the Dropbox free version, or sites like Google Drive.27KViews6likes8CommentsRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.5KViews5likes27CommentsUsing Dropbox to share photo galleries
Is there a simple way to generate a public link for a Dropbox folder that presents to a new user as a gallery? This seems like a very basic idea, and should be core to Dropbox functionality. "I'm ready to share my photos with my customer. Here's the link to the gallery" The link only goes to a file list by default. Yes, a user can choose the 'large grid' from the hamburger menu, but the user experience is dreadful here, particularly if you're a professional photographer or someone trying to make a good impression on a customer. Request: a link that presents a pleasant gallery of photos or images. Not just a file list.Solved3.9KViews5likes2CommentsAudio cuts off in the middle of a file I shared via a link, any ideas?
Hi everyone, I recently revisited a 15 minutes .mp3 file I uploaded, and then shared, and found that the sound randomly cut out after 2 minutes. The 'loudness graph' (whatever that's called) displayed correctly the whole 15 minutes, and when downloaded the audio was all there. But every attempt to play the audio directly from the link resulted in it becoming silent at a random point. This is disturbing because the audio is shared with the requirement that it be streamable, and I am now worried I have been sharing files which have incomplete sound.... Other files have full sound. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the file since it plays fine everywhere else. Any ideas? Thanks3.4KViews4likes5CommentsFolders showing up empty when I send a link to someone
This has only been happening to me within the past week, but it is really hurting my business. I am always sending a folder with either video files or photos. Generally people are opening the link on their phone with the intention of saving them to their phone. Basically what is happening is when I send someone the link to the folder, for them it either says that the folder is empty, or it shows the files but when they click on them it says the file type is not supported and so they can't view them or save them. This seems to happen whether they are using the Dropbox app or they open the link using Safari. The same thing also happens if they try to open the link to the folder on desktop. Also it should be noted that I upload the files via the Dropbox website, and I know they are all synced before I send the link because I check on the app on my phone before I copy the link. I have double checked and I know I am sending them the correct link and near the link when I copy it it literally says "anyone with this link will have access to these files" but I guess that is not the case for some reason. It also doesn't seem to matter if the person is signed in to their account or not. Any idea on why this is happening? Need to fix it ASAPSolved8.5KViews3likes38Comments
