Shared Links
932 Topics"That didn't work for some reason" error; I can't open my shared link.
I have a shared link to a gaming document that I've been using for a while. However, every time I've tried to use the link over the pass couple of days, I get the message shown below. I've refreshed the page, used different browsers, cleared my cache, but nothing seems to work. I've had others test the link and they've been able to use it just fine, so I don't believe the document has been delete. Does anyone know how I might be able to access it again?Solved46Views0likes10CommentsRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.5KViews5likes27CommentsMy shared link video preview freezes on Chrome, but not Safari.
Hi Dropbox Community, I’m experiencing an issue with video playback on a Dropbox-shared link in Chrome. Here’s what’s happening: When I open the link in Chrome, the video plays but intermittently freezes in the middle. However, when I view the same video link in Safari, it plays smoothly without any interruptions. My internet connection is fast, so I don’t think it’s a connectivity issue. I’ve tried disabling Chrome extensions, clearing my cache, and even adjusting hardware acceleration, but the issue persists in Chrome specifically. here's the format of my link: [removed] Has anyone else encountered this issue with Dropbox videos on Chrome, or is there any recommended solution?91Views1like9CommentsI get an error every time I open another user's shared link.
Im trying to open a link that somebody shared with me. When I click on the link a new tab opens and I can see the page loading for a split second then it gives this error message: Tell me what should I do to fix your website?34Views1like6CommentsShared links are prompting external users to join team
8 times out of 10 when we send out links for view to people outside our company the ask to join our group. Can you make it more obvious for them to click Skip to View? They ask to join are team almost every time and the point is to share the view. Thanks21Views0likes1CommentThe shared link I sent out truncates the names of files included. Can I adjust the name column?
I’m trying to share a collection of files with non Dropbox users by sending them a link. The files have long names. When the recipients click on the link they get a list of files with very shortened names, such that they cannot tell at a glance which file is which. On the other hand the column showing the size of the files is much wider than needed. Is there any way to give more space to the names of the files? Also, why is the file order seen by the recipients not the same as the order I see in my own Dropbox folder?35Views0likes7CommentsMy sharing got suspended
Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropbox’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement. Could someone please show me how to rectify this issue? -When I click through to support it says support is no available with my plan -When I review the list of violations I don't believe I'm in breach of any of them -I can't see anywhere to accept any new terms of service Thanks in advance! 🙂109Views0likes3CommentsMy shared links can't be viewed properly (the content isn't showing).
Hello team, When I click on the 'share' button on a folder to generate a link, and then view the link, I can't view the database properly. This persists on all browsers, and devices including mobile. Find attached an image.Solved82Views2likes8CommentsI can't access files shared with me by others via links
I have my own dropbox but independently, for work things, I been given access to files and folders in various other people's dropboxes recently but for some reason I get an error msg and can't access them. These are open files to everyone and it is not just one time / company - it's happening with courses I have paid for, with press media files that are available just generally, people who send me general links to files - I always get this error: Error Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check ourStatus Pageto see if there is a known incident, ourhelp centreandforumsfor help, or go back tohome. I have checked the installer, checked my own dropbox syncs etc. My own files are fine and so I can't see the issue. It has happened without about 5 different companies giving me access - that I can't see the files - which are open to the general public if you have been sent the link. What can I do?89Views0likes4Comments
