I work with several hundred image files at once. I’m using my iPad Pro which has plenty of storage. I went to upload 852 image files (something I have done regularly for years using the Dropbox app) to my Dropbox this morning and the app on the iPad is telling me that there’s a cap of only 400 images I can upload at a time. I am unable to find a way to bypass this. What this means for me is I will have to upload images in batches of 400 and then sort through them to make sure I didn’t duplicate any because the upload system in the app seems to have an overlap between what gets uploaded from the iPad and what shows up in the app. In other words, I am unable to select accurately what gets uploaded from the iPad and what does not so I risk losing files due to this cap. This has to be an error or a bug because I cannot possibly imagine a logical reason for capping uploads of images. Dropbox has never had this limit before. Can someone confirm this is happening for them on the iPad app and if so, anyway to get get around it?Solved3.4KViews1like10CommentsSharing with Setlist Helper

I am having more problems with Dropbox and after this week of having issues with the app on my windows 10 laptop, I am about fed up with dropbox to the point where I am ready to think about a different cloud service. I compose a word document on my laptop and save it to dropbox. I go to my tablet, access the document and it looks fine. I make changes to the document on my laptop, save it again to dropbox, same file name, same location. I pull up the document on my tablet from the dropbox app, and its the previous version. This has been an ongoing issue with dropbox. The same document looks different on my laptop than it does on my tablet. For some reason, the dropbox app on my tablet hasnt received the updated document that I saved to dropbox (same account) on my laptop. In the past, I would not be able to see the document in dropbox on my tablet until I opened dropbox on my laptop. very aggravated1.5KViews0likes6CommentsiPad mdwriter app created multiple file copies when Dropbox was offline
I was working offline in mdwriter (simple markdown editor) on Dropbox files while in airplane mode. I went back into normal mode when inside a corporate network wifi where apparently Dropbox is blocked. The Editor showed errors syncing the files that I had modified and also created 2-3 copies of each of them. Question: can Dropbox present itself as „offline“ if a firewall does not permit it to sync normally? Anyone know what is happening here? In the Dropbox the files were showing as 2 weeks old (last time I modified them), so the editor did not / could not modify them in Dropbox (but tried to, and when failing, saved copies, I assume). Later when I disabled the wifi and used cellular data, all of the copies synced & showed up in Dropbox correctly. The original 2 modified files are still not modified in Dropbox and the editor can‘t seem to save them.1.5KViews0likes12CommentsAuto sync from different devices save in same folder
I have iPhone and iPad. Both of them saved photos to same folder and my photos are mixed. How I can set different auto sync folder to different devices? I already try: stop syncing, pushing some fotos to different folder, auto syncing window pop-up, starting auto sync with hope it will start working based on different folder.969Views1like4CommentsUnable to restore backup to tablet
Hi. When I've created a backup on my PC and then try to restore same backup to tablet, I keep getting an error message "There is something wrong with the backup file". I've updated Dropbox on both the PC and Tablet and same error message appears.Solved885Views0likes3CommentsI cannot create a folder. I get the same message whether on a browser or phone app...
as per the title... what i did do is move a very large directory in the same structure -- which is now finished (i think!) Is there any way to monitor a large move process (this one took around an hour -- all server side) as it would make sense that i cannot update things while it is still running a large operation. is there any feedback i can monitor?735Views0likes2CommentsAll of my devices show 0 bytes for my Scrivener files, except my MacBook Pro.
I use dropbox on ipad and 2 Mac's essentially for the app Scrivener. I saw last week that all my scrivener projects'size (it is packages = folders) was 0 byte. on my macbook they still had the correct size (a chance as since I trust dropbox I don't make backups of my dropbox folder, I know it's terrible) but the sync is not correcting the problem: the scrivener projects stay at 0 byte while they have the correct size on my macbook and I have "everything is synced). On my iPad and my other mac they are at 0 bytes I re-installed dropbox.. but still the same638Views0likes6CommentsHalf the files from a third party app were synced to my Dropbox - how can I find the rest?
I’ve recently have to delete an app (which was synced with DB. And before I deleted I checked the app and it said the last syncing was yesterday) and reinstall it. But when I install and export the Dropbox data I realized that literally every single file modified at different times. Some of the files from couple days ago was there, some of them not even exist and some of them didn’t get modified since January. When I checked the storage it shows that I still have storage left (1,7 GB used out of 2.)so I don’t know why would Dropbox didn’t synch files properly and synch only some random files at random times. I’ve been keeping my school work and there’s no other place I can recover them from and like I stated the app itself shows that the last synch was yesterday so how is that possible?638Views0likes1Comment
