I am trying to troubleshoot a problem reported by my users, and am looking at a Dropbox for Business detailed activity log. It immediately raises about a million questions, about how to parse and interpret the log. Is there a written guide anywhere that explains this? Surely someone has some notes on things like: Most of what you want is in the Info field, which you're going to have to split on colons, commas, brackets, and braces (each of which delineates ... what?). The Info field starts with a WHATISIT? field that is one of these in double quotes: target_users, host_id, member_ids, file_obj_id, file_name, ... Specific things are referred to by their _id fields, which you can translate into object names by ....?Solved12KViews0likes3CommentsHow to remove spaces from Dropbox folder names (spaces causing issues)
Hi There, We need to run Bitnami web stacks but the path contains spaces because of the Dropbox folder name. How do we rename the folders so there aren't spaces? Or if we unsubscribe from Dropbox for business (we've found it kind of painful in practice) will the personal dropbox folder name get renamed to 'Dropbox' (without spaces/brackets)? I am going to ask here since Dropbox support seems to be nonexistent. I had a Dropbox pro account with my company email that I paid for personally in April of this year. I used the account for both work and personal. I joined the team for the company I work with because i needed to share and access files contained in that folder. Today my employer decided to upgrade to dropbox business. I was not given any notification at all of this or any ability to decline the 'invitation'. My entire account, all my link all of my personal data, as well as everything I had in dropbox was assimilated into the business account. Additionally dropbox seems to have forgot the selective sync settings and filled my disk to the point my computer had issues. My manager removed my account from the dropbox business account as there seem to be no way to undo this (which is completely ridiculous). As a result I have lost my pro subscription that I paid the year for in April, all of my links to others, and really all faith in dropbox. I am wondering how I can either get my account refunded or reestablished as the dropbox pro account that I had paid for before it was forcefully assimilated into the dropbox 'business account'? Also I am super unhappy that I am now playing with 1/2 a TB of files, and that all of my personal information stored in my dropbox can now be accessed by the business admin. It has been 12 hours with no response from support, and I am at a point where this is causing me major workflow and productivity issues. What company in 2017 offers a paid service with no phone number to support the paying customers?Solved7.5KViews0likes9CommentsHow do I join a Dropbox for Business team when I already have Dropbox running for all other clients?
Hi, I've been invited by my main client to join their Dropbox for Business team - using a work email address. I also have dropbox running already - using another email address. I use it for a range of personal and work folders, and I have many folders within this that are shared with other clients. I have it synced across three computers too. How can I join the new Dropbox team and also keep my other dropbox folders the same? I haven't been able to get two Dropbox apps to run together, and all I can do at the moment is upload files one at a time online to this new folder - which is not going to work - I have hundreds that I need to add. I've also tried getting them to invite me at my personal email, but it looked like they would get access to my other files. Hoping someone can help.Solved6.7KViews0likes5CommentsRealistic space expectations for Business Advanced
Hi, A little back story: my family won a diversity green card and we are likely to move to the US within 4 or 5 months.I have been using Dropbox Plus for seveal years and am very satisfied with service (it saved me on several occasions). Working asmotion graphics designer/videographer, my work sofar occupies around 25TB of storage. I would like to keep it all when moving to the US. I am planning to use twoseparate external RAID drives of 24TB each (2x12TB in RAID0 mode). Both these drives will go into different bags on the airplane. As onlinebackup, I also would like to upload all my work to Dropbox Business Advanced account. Iam planning to keep using it for as long as Dropbox keeps this service. Is it realistic to expect 25TB of storage (possibly more in the future as I create more footage) in Business Advanced account or am I better of just keeping my files on hard drives? My subscription expires by the end of March, so I will either extend Dropbox Plus or upgrade to Business Advanced.Solved6.5KViews0likes8CommentsHow can I become the team admin when the admin has left and didn't leave the password?
