3 Topics"No internet connection" error on my PC Dropbox - won't finish installing
Since the middle of August I've been having problems with my dropbox on my 3 devices not syncing. Now I've lost dropbox from my pc laptop. I've uninstalled, rebooted computer, reinstalled. It won't finish installing. Keeps saying I have no internet connection of my computer is offline. Neither is true. I've only used half of my 2gb. I have dropbox basic, as that is all I need. I only use dropbox for knitcompanion. I need a working dropbox for knitcompanion. Help. I can't fix this.871Views0likes14CommentsIs there a workaround for files with unsupported characters that don't sync?
Hi I'm aware that there are restriction on windows filepath characters that drop box does allow. I have access to a dropbox which I want to download using the desktop app so that the file modified date is preserved (Doesnt seem to be on the website downloads). Unfortunately a couple of the folders names in the dropbox have colons in so those folders don't download. Is there any work around to this (e.g. an option to substitute characters in the download paths that windows encounters and doesnt like) or some other way to download the individual files (which dont have colons in their name) and preserve the modified date. I dont have any access/permissions to change the folder names in dropbox itself Many thanks263Views0likes1CommentDropBox Cannot Connect or Sync Despite Advanced Reinstall - Need Manual Sync Solution
64-bit Win11 PC Company-provided laptop with firewalls (presumably) Internet connected My Dropbox desktop app will not connect with the internet, no matter what I do, even though it used to. I have installed the 64-bit version, currently showing as v187.4.5691. The Dropboxupdater, on the other hand, runs in the background as a 32-bit task, but that's a question for another day. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted numerous times, including using the Advanced Reinstall instructions. Whenever I start Dropbox, I get the message that I am not connected to the internet. I am, in fact, connected to the internet, because I can post this question. Yet when I click "Sign in" in the app, nothing happens. The taskbar icon stays grayed out, saying "Connecting..." and the app, when opened, says "Starting..." - but again, nothing ever happens. I have added every Dropbox executable to the Windows firewall. And I meanevery one - I did a full search of my PC. I'm at a loss as to why this isn't connecting, and now I just need to manually sync my files at this point. I'm not sure the best way to do that. I'm lookng for potential solutionsthat I haven't already tried for getting the sync to work, or for manually syncing my files. Thanks.995Views1like7Comments
