Hi I am trying to make hyperlinks in a pdf which will bring me to locations on my dropbox folder. Currently I am able to get to my web folder but I have connected dropbox to my Mac and would like to go to a location in my finder. Is that possible and would it also work for other people at my company? Since the folder directory has your username included into it?29Views0likes2CommentsOn Mac, cannot add 'Dropbox for Teams' as a storage account
Someone in our small org is trying to enable co-authoring from Microsoft Office desktop apps. Looks like someone was able to add 'Dropbox for Teams' as a storage account but that's not showing up for us on a Mac running Sequoia with updated Microsoft Office and Dropbox app. Is anyone able to add it in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint on their Mac? We've already enabled Dropbox as a File Provider. https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001017/we-cant-add-dropbox-for-teams-as-a-storage-account-for-office-365-on-a-mac-/81381225Views0likes1CommentHow can I make my password-saving app save its database to Dropbox and sync it to other devices?
I have a password program on my pc that saves the data base file to Documents\My Safes when it closes. Do I have to direct the program to save to the DBox folder instead of the...\My Safes folder if I wish to have the file automatically synced with Drop Box each time it is updated? Secondly, is it possible to have the file that is on DBox sync to the one on the PC if I change the Dbox file from my phone?70Views0likes4CommentsNo auto backup with Dropbox Backup for three days, why?
Hi I've got auto backup set to every 15 minutes but Dropbox hasn't backed up since 3 March. When I hover over the Dropbox icon in the notification area, it is stuck on "Indexing dbxignore (1 sec)". I'm running Windows 10 on my Laptop, Dropbox app version 219.4.4463. Things I've tried: Quitting the app. Pressing alt + H and selecting fix hardlinks and fix permissions in preferences>accounts Uninstalling / re-installing the app. What do I need to do to get back to having regular backups? Cheers.52Views0likes5CommentsI can't see the top level folder in Adobe after the latest Dropbox team update
Our organization (Dropbox Advanced) recently was migrated to the Dropbox "team space" file system model. I have encountered no unexpected behavior with interacting with my files in macOS Finder or Windows Explorer in the usual way. However, I occasionally will use the Adobe + Dropbox integration to access PDFs in my Dropbox folders directly inside Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader, both in macOS and in Windows. After we were migrated, the Adobe + Dropbox integration (under "Other file storage" in the Acrobat sidebar) only seems to be able to access my personal folder within my Dropbox ("/[FullName]"), not the top level ("/"). Furthermore, the file storage label under "Other file storage" in the Acrobat sidebar is still "Dropbox ([OrgName])" instead of the new "[OrgName] Dropbox" as it it labeled in macOS Finder and Windows Explorer. I have disconnected and reconnected the Adobe + Dropbox integration inside Acrobat in both macOS and Windows, and the behavior is the same; no access to the top level. Acrobat is up to date in all cases. Is this a situation where Adobe has not updated their macOS and Windows Acrobats to accommodate these changes? My iOS Adobe Acrobat works just fine with the team space model, with appropriate and expected access to the top level of files. I encounter a 100% reproducible but very weird error. I have two machines running Ubuntu Linux, my laptop (24.10) and my server (22.04). I used to use Dropbox to keep the files on both of them in sync for years and it has always worked perfectly (I am on a paid plan and have a pretty large amount of files). I use the latest version of the dropbox client for linux on both machines. Now the problem: When the dropbox client is running on my laptop and I start up the dropbox client on the server, reliably, after about 10 seconds, my local laptop freezes and kills my X session (i.e., all apps are killed, I am logged out and presented with a login screen). In the meantime, on the server, the dropbox client has been killed but the server keeps running just fine. This is very disconcerting, how can what I do on the remote machine cause my local machine to crash?? Any advice on what I could try to resolve this? I have already tried setting up the limit for inotify with sudo sysctl -w fs.inotify.max_user_watches=100000 Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am considering canceling my Dropbox subscription.53Views0likes3CommentsDropbox Capture video skips and buffers when I record.
Hey, I've been using Dropbox Capture to feedback on a project. I love the idea of quickly sharing a video like that. There is one problem though - I cannot reliably record a screen capture with voice - the video will randomly skip and buffer, corrupting the recorded video - in effect I'm loosing time, because I have to re-record. It's very frustrating. I'm on Windows and the most recent version of Capture v116.3.0 Tried reinstalling, clearing cache, tried disabling audio enhancements in Windows audio settings as well. I would love to use this feature daily, but at this point it's pointless - is there any fix to the issue?50Views0likes7Comments
