dropbox business
1162 TopicsSync dropbox across multiple locations/hard drives
I have a larger dropbox account than my primary hard drive. It would be great if dropbox could support virtual links to files outside of it's default location, without those files having to also be in the main dropbox folder. I am aware of shortcuts/aliases on windows/OSX, but those don't solve the problem if my primary drive has limited space. This is one workaround, but native support through the Dropbox client would be ideal: http://bobmckay.com/software/split-dropbox-across-multiple-drives63KViews93likes109CommentsPlease allow pairing of more than two accounts.
Please allow pairing of more than two accounts. As a contractor, I am a member of a company's business account, a team member of another company, and have my personal account. It is frustrating to only be able to pair two of them, so that when I need to access the third, I have to completely sign out of the others and sign in fresh for the third.17KViews40likes84CommentsDropbox Paper integration with Asana.
I and my office use Asana for project management, and that platform allows for users to attach documents to project tasks from Dropbox (which is completely awesome). However, as of now the documents that are in Paper are not available to attach - it would be wonderful if a team that is collaborating using Paper could also attach that document to the shared task in Asana so that everything is all in one place. It works so great for the rest of one's Dropbox files, so adding that functionality to Paper would be perfect!15KViews34likes25CommentsDropbox to offer business email hosting
I reckon a lot of businesses use Dropbox as their preferred collaboration tool however they also have to get Office365 or Gsuite to host business email function. What if Dropbox could provide email as a service included with the business plan?8.5KViews31likes11CommentsWill there be a 2 TB option for personal accounts?
I am running out of space with my 1TB drive. Is there an option to get 2TB? I know about Dropbox for business, with 5 Tb, but the price is just not compatible with my needs. It is too big a jump from 1Tb price to minimum of 5 users at $ 15 each.Solved26KViews31likes70CommentsMultiple Business accounts with the same email+2 Business accounts on the desktop.
I need multiple drop box teams for different customers. It is not practical for everyone to create multiple e-mail addresses for each dropbox. Is there a solution for one person to be on different teams without having multiple e-mail addresses?33KViews29likes61CommentsDisaster: Dropbox removing external disk support for Mac users :(
In case anyone's unaware... if you're a Mac user storing your Dropbox on an external drive, you'll shortly lose that ability. https://talk.tidbits.com/t/dropbox-drops-support-for-storing-files-on-an-external-drive-and-onedrive-retains-it/20797/16 https://help.dropbox.com/installs/macos-support-for-expected-changes Just confirmed this with DB support (see below). Gutted - been with Dropbox for years and our entire video team flow is based around it 😕 >Hi there, I read today that you are scrapping the ability to store the Dropbox folder on external disks, on OSX. I'd like to ask more about this please. > Hello Jon, and thank you for contacting Dropbox Support. My name is Joseph, and I will be more than happy to look into your request, right away. That is correct Jon, as part of the Dropbox for macOS update, the Dropbox folder must be located in ~/Library/CloudStorage. >This is a showstopper for us, and will mean we have to move to another service. We have a large distributed team using DB for video work, no way it'll fit within internal drives. Is there a workaround? >I totally understand and I apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, there is no workaround on this as changing the location of your Dropbox folder is no longer supported by macOS. >This change doesn't seem to have hit us yet - we're running a variety of machines inc Ventura What will trigger its enforcement? Can we stay on an earlier OS or Dropbox version? >The updates happening automatically every time the Dropbox app is restarting, for example if your device never restarts it should maintain the older version but we can't guarantee full functionality on older versions of the application. >So what will happen - if we have a Dropbox folder on an 8TB drive and a tiny internal drive - will it try to clone stuff across and eat up the space? What's the mechanism? >That's right, it will try to move the content on your internal drive until it has no space and gives you an error. >Is Smartsync still supported?I.e. will it move stuff to being online only if it won't fit? >It is, however it is now known as online-only.Solved101KViews25likes691Comments
