15 TopicsMissing folders/files on the site, but still visible and accessible on the iOS mobile app, why?
Hi, some of my folders, including the files in them are missing from the web view. On my iphone I still have everything, but not on the web, via a browser. There were no changes on these files/folders, they are also not synced anywhere locally, and the deleted folder is empty as well. Files/folders are still accessible on my phone via the app, but they do not show up on web. How is this possible?126Views0likes1CommentWhen I copy text from a doc in iPad it copies a link to the clipboard instead of the actual text
I'm still fairly new to operating within the Dropbox app on my iPad. I found when I would open a text file from DB while connected to Wi-Fi it opens just fine but when I go to copy the text I find that when I paste it into another doc I'm pasting a link to the document in dropbox rather than the actual text itself, what am I doing wrong? This is my primary question but as a follow on I'd welcome a link to a page that explains that if I'm connected to the Internet am I able to edit modify a document dynamically without having to download it to local storage.507Views0likes8CommentsTags aren't searchable on a Mac Computer or iPhone
I have created multiple tags in the info section for a particular photo. Some of the tags are #Peter #friend and #wedding and while they show up when I am doing my initial search after hitting the All files tab under tags, they are not searchable inside of Dropbox. In other words, if I were to type in any of those tags, nothing shows up. Basically, the hashtags are useless, but they do show up under the tag section just not searchable. I have cleared cookies and cache previously.721Views0likes1CommentThe position of a folder changes after renaming files in it
I have a folder with about 1000 files. When I add a bunch of files to it, I need to rename each one to a specific rename. Before the recent upgrade, after renaming a file, it would go to the renamed file or stay in the same folder location from where the file was before it was renamed. Nos after each rename, the position pops to the top of the folder alphabetically. This causes so much extra scrolling and takes a lot of extra time. Id say this is more like a bug report than a how to question. I already contacted support and they know nothing and then directed me here — which is also useless I suspect because the number of users makes it look like a needle in a haystack.957Views0likes8CommentsCan photos I delete from my phone automatically be deleted from Camera Uploads too?
My iPhone photo library is automatically backed up to my Dropbox (which is great) but I find myself having to frequently manually delete photos previously uploaded to Dropbox when I delete them from my iPhone. Is there an option where this can be done automatically? It's easy to accumulate thousands of photos that I no longer need backed up on Dropbox (such as screenshots) and manually deleting them can be very time consuming. Ideally there should be a rclone type synchronization feature added to the the Dropbox iPhone app. Thank you.726Views0likes3CommentsWrite annotations on a drawing file (gif) using the iPad and Dropbox app
Hi! I go sailing on a long trip and use Bracknell maps to analyze the weather conditions at sea. Those gif files are stored (and updated) in my dropbox. As I do not have a printer on board - and we are digitally... off course, that's why we have dropbox! - I would love to find a quick way to make with my pencil annotations on the document (adding arrows, indicating a low pressure area... etc - free hand drawing), using my ipad. Till now I have even not found a feasible app to do this. A workaround is to download from dropbox to 'Photos' and then edit. But... then the edited file is on my ipad in the 'Photos' app and not in dropbox. My basic rule is to work always in files stored on Dropbox, not to make local copies. What are your experiences?2.2KViews1like11CommentsWhat options are available on the iPad to edit photos?
I can access my dropbox on the ipad app, select an image, (I assume cloud image), select "Edit". There are only two options, "crop and rotate". Then when I do a "save changes" 1. There is no option to do an "undo" and 2. Does it save an edited copy and keep the original? Because, when I download the image to the IPad there are a lot more edit options, including the "Undo" option. Is this the way it is meant to work?Solved658Views0likes3Comments
