the problem was that i didn't choose them seperately inside of the main backup, i thought that i just can't download but i did by selective picking & downloading. very nice, solved

I had an external hard drive that was backed up using Dropbox Backup fail.
Can I restore an entire hard drive to a new one using Dropbox Backup?

Hi dgallant, the option to restore a backup would only make a copy of a zip file of the external drive for you to download, which you can specify to download anywhere.
Is there anything specific you're looking for regarding restoring the backup?

I get an error that there are too many zip files when trying to copy the entire backup to a hard drive
