I manage a business dropbox account. Our team utilizes the folder info function and have a lot of information there. I was just made away that this function is going away in 2 weeks!! We need either this function to remain or a way to export the data asap.50Views1like3CommentsCan I get the actual creation date of the file, and not just the upload date?
I am not understanding how I can find out details on when a file was created. For example I have uploaded 714 PDF files today to a Folder PDF_11_10. When I look at the folder ALL the files show a modified date of today. Is there a way to get the actual creation date of each file and NOT just upload date. I have followed the instructions for 'file info' on Metadata but no luck. I would appreciate any solutions. Running on WIN11 with Dropbox PRO. I keep having the same issue, connection works, have tried to clear the cache, incognito window, different browser, single file vs folder, some of them are word documents so the lightest possible thing and still get the exact same pointless message "error while downloading your file". Hi all I just had my paper docs migrated into my Dropbox account. However, I still have access to www.dropbox.com/paper. There is a new Paper UI that initially shows only a couple of files. For some reason, this new UI has a completely different conceptual model or way of working. And many of the basic conventions we had in the previous Paper UI have been removed or replaced by strange alternatives. For instance, a search on this empty space will actually return the results of your migrated Paper docs. They can be filtered, but incredibly, they cannot be sorted. On the left side, there is a sidebar that is almost empty. Apparently, it's up to the user to create a navigation structure there and populate it with documents. I challenge you to find who to do it, but drag and drop doesn't work. I was not offered any type of onboarding or tutorial to transition to this new UI. So, I guess I'll have to discover my way through it little by little. But honestly, I don't know if this new UI will also be removed soon. Can anybody explain what happened with Paper? Hi everyone, My name is Benoit, and I have been a Dropbox user since 2016. For me, my entire life is in Dropbox, and it is very important for me to have access to your solution. However, I have a small issue when trying to view my photos on the website (https://www.dropbox.com/photos). It is very difficult to find a specific photo, and the page loads very slowly! For example, when I try to find a picture from year, the page takes a long time to load. I set the filter to the year 2022, and it takes 4 to 5 minutes to display all the photos from that year! I tried in different browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Brave, but it's the same issue. Also, I tried in Linux Mint, Windows (10 and 11) and I've the same problem. My wife uses a different solution, like Google Photos(🤮), and when she wants to find a photo, it is not as slow as Dropbox and she can search for a photo by name. How can I change the order of subfolders within a folder (on the Dropbox web app). I don't see any way to rearrange the order in which the folders appear. Many web apps allow one to simply drag drop to reorder folders. No matter how long I wait, it stays like this indefinitely. Refreshing the page or trying a different browser doesn’t fix it either. I’ve tried Firefox, Chrome, Safari, and Opera, but the result is the same on all of them. Even clearing history/cookies doesn’t solve the issue. Hello Team, I'd like to request a feature add - to view photos in a waterfall layout online. Currently, it seems only MS OneDrive has this capability, which is literally the only reason I even use it, but I've used Dropbox my whole life with zero problems. I really love you guys and will never stop using Dropbox entirely. 3rd party apps do not have a waterfall layout feature, and I dislike OneDrive because it became embedded into my Samsung Galaxy with no option to uninstall it, and does its own thing which makes me feel gross lol. It's important to me as an artist to see the full and complete view of my work in its original aspect ratio. Also, being older (an accessibility issue for others too perhaps) my eyesight is not so good. The waterfall layout allows me to see all of my work as large as possible on the screen, while also retaining the photo's original aspect ratio. This allows me to review hundreds of photos I've taken and make important assessments very quickly. I'd be forever grateful if you could add this feature to the online photos view.
