Takes 2 clicks to do what one used to do - user unfriendly change in latest version.
KK57 entered the following in April:
Please put it back the way it was until recently. Or give users the option to set the default of how files open when using dropbox.com
Prefer Single click to open file in new tab (not open in preview pane).
For clarity this applies to viewing files on the website, not the desktop.
As far as I can tell, nothing has been done to restore the single click function. Now it takes two clicks to do what used to take one. The preview function, which is what you get with one click now, is pretty useless. Please provide an option for one click to open folders and files when using the website, like it was before this user unfriendly change.
The "preview icon (half-gray square or four corners outline) in the top right, above the file list." doesn't exist on my page. The square above the right side of the file list just selects all of the files on the page.
There is a half square in the drop down menu for settings (the gear icon) located to the right of the folder name. That has an option in "open in" to select "quick view." I think that fixed it.

Hi Herbert B,
You can change how you view the file back so that it opens up the file with a single click:
From this help center article:
- You can change your view by clicking the preview icon (half-gray square or four corners outline) in the top right, above the file list. Then, select Full screen or Quick view.
Please let us know if you have any other questions!
