Uploading albums from Apple Photos to Dropbox for Back up
Hi
I am trying to sort out cloud storage for my photos. They are on Apple Photos on a Mac running Sierra 10.12.6. I already have an external harddrive on which they are regularly backed up. ...
- 7 years agoHi Kate, most likely this won’t work since the Photos app is a database of its own (hence why we don’t recommend syncing it to Dropbox). However, in Photos, you should be able to export the album, or the photos out of that app into the Dropbox folder. This will copy the photos, not just move them, so you will be duplicating the space used on your Mac the more photos you copy over.Hope this clarifies matters!

Hi Kate, I have the same issue and find a way. Did you do follow the suggestion? Are you satisfied with it? What about when you add some photo to old albums. Do you just export it again? It is still a very manual process. I even consider to move away from apple photo to a different program. But Google i.e. does not have the same functionality.
