Do downloaded files maintain the OCR function?
I work with blind / visually impaired people. For them, the OCR function is important, so the device can read the content of a file to them. I found out, that DropBox uses OCR for the documents, stored in DropBox. My question: My client wants to download her files to her MacBook and store them in the Finder. When she downloads pdf files, do they still have the OCR function?
Exclude folders when searching for content in my mobile app.
Is it possible to exclude certain folders from the search function? I have a lot of files in my school folder when I was in college but I don’t want this folder to be searched when I search for files. I use dropbox on my iPhone by the way. Thanks
A message about the desktop is not allowing me to see my files online
Hello everyone, After I login to Dropbox I get the message: Successfully logged in Now, explore Dropbox on desktop. And a button that reads "Open Dropbox" When I click on that button a message that reads "Do you want to allow this website to open “Dropbox”?" At which point nothing happens. Dropbox emailed flagging I was over my free limit. After logging in, I was planning to delete some photos. Unfortunately I can only briefly see the photo grid, and then the screen changes to asleeping dog on purple cushion. I've reluctantly upgraded my storage, but the error remains. Any thoughts on how I can access my account?
Search Results Limit on iOS
Dear Dropbox, I've been a paying subscriber for over a decade, now. Great product! I have discovered one curious aspect of your iOS product that has proven frustrating in practice. When searching for a file, I'm limited to only 100 results. Most of the time this is fine, but there are occasions when I'm searching for a file that is for work and there are far more than 100 results. As a consequence of this limited display of results, I am unable to find the file and share it with a colleague. Given that the entire point of Dropbox is to share files, this is highly frustrating. There is no such limit on the desktop integration, of course, so it's quite a thorn to be so restricted on iOS. Perhaps the app could include a search results option that allows the user to display more than 100 results? Default could still be 100, that's fine, but at least allow the user to select more when needed. Maybe something like 100, 1000, and 2500 or some such? At the risk of sounding foolish, it seems like this would be a fairly simple change, would not break the app, and would allow users the ability to continue using Dropbox in their workflows as needed. I've been having an issue with Dropbox where files seem to revert to their old names when I download them? The file names are correct when viewing them on the dropbox webpage and desktop app on my laptop. They are also correct when viewing on the webpage on the PC, however when downloading to PC they appear to revert to a previous file name. It seems to have just started doing this, despite no changes being made on the account or computer. I can see the old file name under the updated one when viewing on web. Any reasons Dropbox may be doing this? It's important for the files to have the correct name, as they contain printing information which varies between files. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
