Is there a way to have Dropbox deleted files go to Mac Trash?

I'm running Dropbox v193.4.5594 on an iMac-M3 on macOS Sonoma 14.3.1

I'm under the impression that when I deleted a file in Dropbox it would go to my Trash folder... but now when I delete a file Dropbox tells me that it will be deleted immediately, no Trashcan... Is my previous memory faulty, and/or is there a way to be able to undelete a Dropbox file?

  • Drat, I knew I should have done a screen print of the message box that said the file would be gone and not recoverable... I think we scared it into working again as now it deletes normally and appears in my trash... I'll reopen this if/when it happens again... sigh.

Hi DHK, thanks for posting today!

The files shouldn't be deleted from your computer entirely. It should only be deleted normally, and the file would appear in the Trash like other files.

Can you confirm that his behavior has changed on your computer?

This will help me to assist further!
