Many ".photocompustate" photos have been deleted. What are they and should I restore them?

I am not sure if this is the right forum but here is the issue. I got an email tonight that said I deleted 2100+ files. The files are all the same ".photocompustate" is in every name. I can't open them like a normal file. Anyone know what these files might be? I don't know if I should restore them.

    Hey btfulvbgrl! Thanks for posting about this here. 

    So, to clarify, this is the first time you're seeing these files on your Dropbox account, correct? 

    If you go to your Events page here, do you see anything more regarding those files or not really? 

    I also had a look into our system in the meantime and I can see you’ve logged a ticket with our support team, so they’ll also have a look for you.

    Let me know if you find something more.

    Thanks, Nancy. I did get an email from support but they just gave links that I already knew about. I don't know where these files came from, I don't know what they are (and I can't open them to find out), I don't know which computer did it and I got another email today with more folders and files 'delted'. I don't know if someone has access to my account or if I did something to cause this.

      Hey there! To be frank, it’ll be hard specifying where these files came from, especially if this is the first time you’re seeing them on your Dropbox account. 

      You can most definitely check the browsers and devices that are linked to your Dropbox account though from this page and see if there’s something that looks unfamiliar.

      Feel free to also send me a screenshot of these files as they appear in your Deleted files page.
