I have set up a new computer. Downloaded the Dropbox desktop app, same as previous computer. I am running Office365. Now all Word documents that are stored in DP are showing corrupted. I can login to DP directly and open the document but when I try to open through my DP shortcut on file explorer. Word docs will not open directly. The solution has been to open the document from DP and then re-save it on the computer in DP. So I still have access to the docs but it's very inconvenient. Is there a solution that would allow my documents to all update at once and be available again from the file explorer shortcut?8Views0likes1CommentMissing updates on a file I've been editing
Hi all! I copied a file from one folder in Dropbox to another folder still in Dropbox on nov. 8th. I modified and saved that certain file several times since nov. 8th until today (I last accessed it on thursday nov. 14th). Yesterday evening I tried to access it again and I found it in the same initial version, more exactly the one on nov. 8th. I searched in the previous sessions in my PC and also here online, but it's like my modifications never even existed. Below please find a pic of the activity on the file. How do you think I could get back the most current verision (the one on thursday nov. 14th would be the last one). Thank you in advance for your kind response(s)!14Views0likes1CommentHow can I recover files deleted 2 months ago?
I am currently using a package for 5 members. Currently, one of our members has a virus on his computer, so all the files in a folder were deleted, which we forgot to restore more than 2 months ago. Is there any way for us to restore it on the system? Again, thank you to anyone who offers some assistance.57Views0likes7CommentsI get an error that I don't have permission to restore one of my deleted folders.
Hallo, one of my Folders that I created was deleted by perhaps me by accident or one of the users. I see the folder when I click "show deleted folder" but when I want to activate it, it tells me, that I am not allowed to do this. This is crazy, because it was my folder. What can I do and who can help to get thsi folder back.349Views0likes10CommentsMass Deletion - Alert page, File Activity log, and admin Content view need more information
Trying to undo a mistaken Team Folder move outside of Dropbox, in a Team account. - There is an alert athttps://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/security/alerts/which lists the affected folders, their size, and number of files, and the date of deletion. However, there's no way to see the containing folder path (mouseover the folder for a tooltip would be nice), and clicking the folder name/icon should go to the containing folder underhttps://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/team_folders/home/in order to restore the file. Instead the only action option on this page is "Check team activity to see all files". The blue Restore button just goes to the same view, instead of providing the ability to undo the entire action. - The Activity view athttps://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/activitydoes provide path tooltips for some activities, but for the Activity type "Removed user/group from shared file/folder" or "Deleted shared folder from Dropbox", does not provide the containing path. An export of the log also does not. This makes locating the folders to restore more difficult. - The admin Content pagehttps://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/content/homeis effectively a file browser, but quite limited even compared to the default Dropbox file view. Especially, there is no Date Modified, and viewing the Deleted Files, there's no Date Deleted which would be very helpful.408Views0likes2CommentsHow can I restore my account to a version with older files?
I have the basic dropbox on two computers - say Desktop and Laptop. Due to a Desktop restore from Idrive cloud backup my dropbox on Desktop has updated with old folders/files which were previously deleted or modified and a sync operation up to the max memory allowed in basic account has occured (dropbox stopped sync as memory got full) so now I have incorrect contents on the Web dropbox. I cannot use the rewind facillity as its a basic account (tells be to go buy an upgrade if I try and rewind a folder}. To get back to my dropbox before it got accidentaly updated with old stuff, my idea is to to uninstall dropbox from Desktop and delete the local dropbox folder. My Laptop was not turned on at the time so that holds the correct Dropbox contents. If I now log into my dropbox web account via a browser and delete all files and folders in the web account and then turn on the Laptop, will the dropbox on my Laptop Sync/upload to the dropbox account and effectively recreate the correct contents. on the Dropbox Web account. I can then re install dropbox on the Desktop and the dropbox will now download from the Web and be correct on the Desktop. Will this work please?
